I was sincerely hoping it would be a CRPG with a deep emphasis on detective/procedural/police work, but it's not that. It's not that at all, so I was really disappointed, and stopped following the game.

Pro Skater 1 and 2 will always be GOAT.

2 will probably always be goat in my heart, but i went back to pro skater 1's ost these last couple of years and it's seriously a contender for best in the franchise - a sin i never thought i'd utter since i always, always maintained that 2 had the absolute perfect ost, ever. 1's ost is just so damn good, full of punk classics.

Personally it's my favorite due to the nostalgia surrounding the time frame of the original game's release (started college, met my wife, best damn time of my life and Reach was the game I played almost daily during that time) but the majority of the Halo fanbase would say Halo 2 and Halo 3 are the best overall.

i'll keep this in mind when halo 2 drops, since i've seen other people say the same. i'm not sure what to think about halo 3. a good friend of mine that was super into halo didn't like the third game very much, but he's the only opinion i have on the game - besides yours, that is.

I would completely disagree with your assessment of the remake. It's worse than the original in some regards.

i actually agree with you, but i see why so many people love it. i wanted a one to one remake like the original game got, but with 1.5 stuff added in. i would kill for elza walker to be a real character.

I had no idea there was such a visceral hatred for RE4 in the RE fanbase, but the vitriol towards it on the RE2 board is distirbing.

i can understand. it was the game that turned resident evil from beloved niche survival horror franchise into a behemoth action powerhouse. it still has some small beats of horror from the older games, but it's definitely a few long-legged steps into the genre and tone the series was going to be known for, for about ten years. it was only until very recently that resident evil really took some dips back into the well of horror.

i think most people will argue the recent remake of re2 is the best in the series. it takes arguably the best installment in the franchise, and upgrades it just enough that it's still a survival horror experience with enough pepperings of resi 4 in it to keep those kind of fans around.

i personally hold no vitriol towards resi 4. it's probably my third favorite resident evil game in the series, after the original re2 and the remake of the first game.

right? i knew john zorn was a producer for bungle, so when i read it was one of zorn's projects the preconceived notion i had evaporated pretty quickly. it's weird how much that first album sounds so damn much like what you posted. the resemblance is literally in the opening seconds, it's bizarre.

i was super vehemently against halo in any and all shapes and forms when i was a budding teen. doom was my first fps, and so therefore it was THE fps for me (and, to be fair, i still think this way. doom is special to me). and so while everybody in eighth grade was hyping halo, i was going "yeah, but doom" like some abused and mistreated housewife. i was really insecure about it, and my irrational hatred of halo continued into my late teens.

now, i've bought halo reach and although i don't hate it i'm not really sure why i bought it. i think because i want to try the best (?) halo game and see if that will do it for me.

Yeah it's done. No continuing on after beating it. No new game plus.

But this is what gamers wanted! Hey, there's no microtransactions! Just a basic, 25 hour single player game with nothing extra.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a solidly done video game, especially one that doesn't have microtransactions or lootboxes.
