The Force Awakens I think was the beginning of something quite solid, The Last Jedi if I'm being honest I'd say that was feeling a bit iffy for me, Boyega said. I didn't necessarily agree with a lot of the choices in that and that's something that I spoke to Mark [Hamill] a lot about and we had conversations about it. And it was hard for all of us, because we were separated.

Actress Daisy Ridley is facing a backlash after claiming she is no more privileged than her Star Wars co-star John Boyega.

"whataboutism" is actually perfectly valid criticism. if you're only calling out one side for something both sides do, it's totally fair to criticize you for this.
It is common sense that anti-semitism is higher on the right. Neo Nazis and other alt right groups hail to the right. We can't simply act like they don't exist. I'd say the right is highly more pro-israel despite this and anti-Semitism is probably declining on the right as a whole, but the fact anti-semitism exists on right more than the left is a given.

It has absolutely zero to do with the premise. And, sure, there is nothing wrong at all with calling out both sides regarding it. I was the one arguing for this in regards to terroristic violence from anti-fa and alt right groups after all. But, you seem to be pretty much trying to drown out that it even exists on the left with your whataboutism.

Idk but acting like it doesn't exist on the left likely isn't the best way to do so.

Bigotry exists on the left just as it exists elsewhere. But a handful of isolated incidents doesn't require that "a lot" of Dems/liberals are actually anti-semitic and that's actually where most of the backlash to this is coming from.

You linked two opinion pieces. One is about a singular incident at a college, an incident that was denounced by the school and various student groups. The other is written with the deliberate intention of getting you to believe that anti-Semitism on the left is a huge epidemic and then goes on to describe scattered handfuls of events. Not that she's wrong about the incidents being anti-Semitic, but her take includes a clear conservative bias against liberals.

The incidents are important because they are not properly being addressed and they show that anti-zionist campaigns are actually being used to attack Jewish students by association of religion.

https://www.dailycal.org/2019/05/09/every-uc-berkeley-student-must-recognize-anti-semitism-on-campus/

So the majority of anti-Semitism on campuses is coming a lot from schools Cal Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, and etc. And, it is being charged with anti-zionist arguments yet also being portrayed with swastikas, gas chamber comments, and etc.

Being Anti-Israel doesn't make you anti-Semitic, but the actions you could take in regards to it can be. That's the issue with the Left that is growing is that some can't seem to separate being Anti-Israel from the anti-Semitism itself and resort to that to show they are Anti-Israel.

A lot of anti-Semitism is reported to be rising significantly on college campuses themselves and a lot of it is relatively expected to be tied to anti-zionist campaigns that have come up on campuses.

But, I am sure it is the neo Nazi alt right at Cal Berkeley doing this. *Rolls eyes*

Meanwhile Trump's appeal to Jewish voters literally a few days:

A lot of you are in the real estate business, because I know you very well. Youre brutal killers, not nice people at all. But you have to vote for meyou have no choice. Youre not gonna vote for Pocahontas, I can tell you that. Youre not gonna vote for the wealth tax. Yeah, lets take 100% of your wealth away! Some of you dont like me. Some of you I dont like at all, actually. And youre going to be my biggest supporters because youre going to be out of business in about 15 minutes if they get it. So I dont have to spend a lot of time on that.

Yes, "you greedy Jews need to vote for me because all you care about is money" is not an anti-semitic pitch at all.
I mean, he is talking about the Jewish people that specifically he says he knows from the real estate business as being "brutal killers" and caring about their "wealth". Maybe he is right. I don't really deem to act like I know about the people he says he knows personally.

If criticizing Israel makes one anti-semitic, pretty sure Trump's criticism of almost every country that isn't Russia makes him anti-Christian, anti-Muslim, anti-Buddhist, etc.
Anti-Jewish sentiment among liberals has been rising while pro-Islam sentiments have been as well.

Israel is already a nation and Israelites are already a nationality so why converting Judaism itself into one (though I am sure almost all of you already talk about it as one as I believe me and others have pointed out to you repeatedly being Jewish is your religion not nationality) is a bit odd.

However, stamping out hate is a good thing I suppose.

No, they're doing it because they want to show they can both work on policy and impeach the president. That's not a distraction. This is why Dems always talk about "walking and chewing gum." This is why Trump smears them with "do-nothing Dems." Democrats don't have a ton of policy victories, but the reason for that is most of their bills are stonewalled in the Senate. They do actually want to legislate AND impeach the president and so are jumping at the chance to pass something. But Trump just takes the credit anyways.
They are doing it because moderate Democrats are giving issues with the impeachment vote if they don't do it to get heat off them in their district.

Great example of how compromise is nearly impossible in our current system. Even if Pelosi and company do think the USCMA is good policy, Trump just spins it into an L. And of course if they don't pass it, it gets spun as "do-nothing Dems" again. Bipartisan attempts at mediocre policy are frequently lose-lose.

(also nighttime helicopter press conference is goofy as hell)

I may be wrong on this, but I dont think we deal with Ukraine at all because they have no responsibility to us unlike Trump.

Its like if the US was a McDonalds and Trump is a McDonalds employee selling McNuggets under the table to some dude (Ukraine) for his own benefit. If they find out, McDonalds can punish the employee, but they have no power over the random dude and the random dude didnt really do anything wrong anyway. He was just buying McNuggets, which is fine. The problem is the employee was selling the McNuggets for himself instead of for McDonalds.
We have power over Ukraine. It is exactly why Trump supposedly was able to use leverage to strongarm Ukraine in the first place.

No I read either here or from a democratic politician today that if this were a jury trial that the jury would come back guilty in seconds. I don't think so. I think there is reasonable doubt and it would be a not guilty or hung jury result.

I mean I am sure it happens all the time in domestic violence right. Even with proof of it happening or eyewitness testimony. Woman wants to stay with the man who hit her or vice versa because they are reliant. The other has leverage over them. Etc. How many of these cases succeed.

I don't buy Ukraine is a co-conspirator here. They would have to be a victim of the abuse of power and the leverage we used over them in order to have pressured them into a quid pro quo.

Holy shit the Democrats are more inept than I could have ever imagined. The articles of impeachment they drafted are literally "abuse of power" and "obstruction of Congress"?!?!

First of all, neither of those are crimes to the average voter. I can't be arrested for "abusing power" or obstructing Congress.

Secondly, think about the optics on this one. Congress is one of the least popular institutions in this country. Your average voter is going to read the headline and wonder what the hell the big deal is. It all just SOUNDS like Trump was doing his job and Congress didn't like it, not that he was commiting extortion, bribery, etc.

I am just flabbergasted how out of touch these people are politically.
I think Democrats just want to get this over with. They know they cannot remove. It's not really inflaming independents, especially in the swing States. And, moderate Democrats are getting antsy in republican districts that impeachment could cost them their seats which is why the big usmca push by moderate Democrats is happening now to try and let them point to that as their achievement and distract from the impeachment process.

Democrats will impeach Trump which should make them happy. Republicans will still have their president exonerated of crimes. And everyone in theory should be happy.

I screwed up my game pass conversion so I'm out now and gotta pay the full amount if I want back in which aint happening
It is worth the amount it costs tbh. It's literally cheaper than Sega channel a full 20+ some years later.

That said, Microsoft rewards is a good way to keep it free if you put the effort into it.

It is an excellent and thought-provoking first-person puzzle game made by the team behind Serious Sam. What I mean by thought-provoking is that the plot and setting are based on existentialism. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can tune that stuff out and focus on the awesome puzzles!
Is it like the Turing test? I actually liked that game a lot.

All of my Game Pass time has been spent on XB1, but I have downloaded the client and maybe a game or two from the PC version.

Looking at a list of PC Game Pass games, I highly recommend the following games:
* The Gardens Between
* The Talos Principle
* Battle Chef Brigade
* Forza Horizon 4
* Halo: Master Chief Collection (might not be a complete PC version right now?)
* Minit
* Ori and the Blind Forest (you already said you downloaded this though)
* Orwell: Keeping An Eye On You

Gardens, Talos, and Minit are super high recommends
What is the Talos principle about. I have seen it recommended a lot but it didn't look very interesting at a glance.
