kirby was fucking stupid in 64 and he got meganerfed and never really recovered
mario and luigi were typically pretty bad but in 4 and ultimate they're actually pretty good
link is finally pretty legitimately good in ultimate, with a good recovery for the first time
game & watch was pretty bad in melee despite his strengths, getting decently buffed in brawl, nerfed down to mediocre in the next game, and now he's just actually pretty damn good and considered high-tier
pokemon trainer lost its glaring weaknesses and is now one of the best in the game

there's a ton of examples i haven't named as well
there's a lot of big changes in the quality of characters in ultimate, with a lot of long-time bad characters being buffed quite significantly (except for kirby for some reason)
the only people who are still bad even with all the updates are k rool and little mac, probably (plant's not great but it has a healthy amount of buffs and once its playerbase finally grows there might be something seen)
honestly, a ton of good characters in melee got hugely nerfed in brawl due to all the changes to the engine, and a few low-tiers like game & watch maanged to actually get buffed for it

i actually can't think of an example that isn't already mentioned

does destroying property count as violence? does being injured or killed by something neutral like a spike or pit of lava count as violence?

was neat but extremely disappointing
like they were afraid to make it as dark or engaging as the premise suggests

Because from what I recall, Nick also aired several new entries in older Nicktoons (like the recent Hey Arnold! movie) - so why wouldn't they air the latest thing from Rocko, which was one of their most beloved toons?

because jungle movie flopped crazy hard so they didn't want to take a risk airing another potential flop

it's a amazing how transparent people here are
it's like t hey don't even want to make the ulterior reasoning any less blatant

there's a lot of weird localization changes that don't really make sense
it's almost like they changed out of spite but buckled down eventually

mario 64 has "princess toadstool peach" and sonic adventure 2 made robotnik officially eggman's last name in japan, but i don't know any other examples where japan adapts foreign localization elements

how is it a better name for a buffoonish, egg-shaped villain. several of whose creations are named after or modeled after eggs
people want him to be serious and intimidating (with a stupid name to match) and it's kinda baffling

he's not faster than sonic, he's equally as fast as sonic
even in sonic riders he has the same run speed

it's unfortunately not a surprise that sports fans and gamers would act like this

rugrats was baffling to me.

i grew up in its heyday and just couldnt understand the appeal at all.

it's interesting show but it's almost frustratingly formulaic

if hanging out with the students leads to valuable rewards that the player would be disadvantaged without, "just skip it" isn't good advice and it just brings up another problem

digital games are often sold for the same price as a physical copy so it's not like you're even saving money

nobody gives a shit about the dungeon crawler rpgs that puyo puyo sprang off of
several sonic spinoffs are more consistently fun than the main games, though the best of the main games have higher peaks

bad jokes and an annoying attitude
really rambly, repetitive, and boring commentary that's often fueled by how bad he is at games

the thing that makes it especially gross is that people specifically need the animal parts to be aroused

no, because when you pirate a game it's because you feel you're entitled to it for free and you're creating extra copies that didn't exist before

gardetto's needs something soft like the chex squares to round things out

it was funny when it was a bunch of vulgar kids in a bunch of confusing, ironic situations
there were many jokes made at the expense of the characters' ignorance of certain adult subjects and it made a lot of things way funnier
now it's just some boring "this cultural phenomenon sure does exist alright" on repeat for 22 minutes

It's also disrespectful to the Spanish language because Spanish nouns are masculine or feminine without making any reference to gender. For example, a male or female dog would both be called "un perro", not "un perro" and "una perra"
