I don't think it's out of character for him at all, just because he's uncomfortable going out there and embracing the unknown doesn't mean he has no desire to. By the end of the movie he learned that it was ok for him to live life for his own sake instead of for the kid who owns him, and that's great.

The N64 isn't really all that great

it's super top heavy, with a few games that are just absolute all-time influential classics, but it's not exactly hit after hit after hit

Nintendo's really lucky they had Rare propping up the B-lister N64 game tier

My suggestion for weapon is either route directly to Gerudo Ruins and get the guaranteed Titanium Dagger at the north part of that area, or do Kakariko Crypt and take the weapon from there since it's the shortest/easiest dungeon

One thing I didn't like about this season was that there were too many straight-up action scenes. The first two didn't really have a whole lot of fight choreography or shooting or even chase scenes really, the action scenes were more about suspense whereas this one just has Hopper doing martial arts at russians surprisingly often and it feels a bit silly. There are so many moments in this show where someone should have died easily if the people or the monster was really trying and it just felt kind of silly, like eventually you just lose the suspension of disbelief a little bit.

I'm fine with the show trying on a slightly different tone but it just didn't do it for me.

I finished the third trial. Yeah it was good.

But for some reason I thought I was near the end and was going to power through what i thought was going to be the last adventure section and then the final trial.

Turns out there's still like half the game left to go so uh yeah probably wont do that -_-

I think it's fine. I was just delighted we got to spend more time with Maya! There were also some cool characters there.

This is weirdly the game where Phoenix gets to spend the most time with Maya, which is nice

Had some good parts but I thought it was more inconsistent than the other two seasons

Great movie but not quite as good as Homecoming, mostly just because that movie was a lot to live up to. I don't have many major complaints except that yeah, knowing that Mysterio was going to obviously be the bad guy made parts of the first half feel like it was waiting for the real shit to go down. This movie does feel like it's weighed down by Tony Stark and the Iron Man films a bit but I'm sort of ok with that - the connectivity of this franchise is its strength and he obviously leaves a big hole. I thought the film did a good job of having that hole be room for Peter to grow.

Yeah, I thought this one was a little weaker than the other three, though I do think it was a cute movie overall. I felt like it was a good coda to the series, allowing Woody to exist for his own sake and make his own choices - TS3 in retrospect does feel as though it traps Woody in a cycle of having no reason to be if he isn't in an eternal cycle of being a kid's toy and TS4 frees him from that.

TS4 feels a bit like a bunch of ideas they had for characters - Forky, Gabby Gabby - and locations - the antique store, the carnival - that they wanted to use before but couldn't, and they just wanted to explore them. It just came off as a little scattershot I guess, some plotlines didn't seem to mesh into a big overall theme and some characters felt like they were along for the ride. Wasn't as tight a script as TS3.

Overall better game than AA4 or AAI1 imo mainly because the third trial is fantastic

I thought this was a good TASbot block, just because these TASes were very technical and interesting all the way through and had good commentary with them. In the past when they've done 'normal' TASes it hasn't worked quite so well, but I thought these were good.

SMB3 and Zelda 1 are in my top 3 though and SMB1 and LttP are merely near the bottom of my top 50, so I have pretty clear differences in how I feel obviously

Mario 1 and Mario 3 are pretty different, honestly. Different art style, different course structure, etc. I'd hesitate to call 3 an improvement because it does something drastically different from 1. I enjoy both for different reasons.

Zelda/Link to the Past, on the other hand, are very similar to each other mechanically. LttP feels like an upgraded LoZ to me. So that got my vote.

I think Zelda 1 and LttP are structured very differently and have different design goals, whereas SMB1 and SMB3 are generally pretty similar in what they're trying to accomplish

The sad thing about gdq is that it's literally impossible to watch every run live, unless you literally don't sleep

I prefer to get 8 hours a day during gdq so I have to make some tough cuts to my viewing schedule

I find the decision making process in any sort of strategic game and why those decisions are made super fascinating

I think that people have a weird assumption that centrism is something that has massive appeal when I think the reality is that most people aren't really that ideologically inclined at all and will kind of do whatever - there's a lot of "undecideds"/moderates who will swing for a progressive candidate because it just seems like the thing to do, for whatever reason, and might not be related to the fact that they're progressive

You should take this with a huge grain of salt, if you think Biden's numbers are inflated/soft then so are Bernie's "second choice" numbers

It's early in the race and a lot of the numbers are just people not having anything more than a vague opinion on the candidates

For dekus with nayru's love, you want to be standing 4 spaces away when you reflect the nut. Fighting them is super unintuitive and I don't like it, but 4 spaces away is the sweet spot. You can also just make them pop up, walk into them, and stab.

Also I just really like the chill low energy that long runs have - fast exciting runs are great but then I like to have runs where there's time to breathe and have a lot of donations read.

I love really long RPG runs because if you're there from the beginning and you watch the whole run, it feels like you've been on a real journey by the time it's over. You get really well acquainted with the game being run and the process of running it, and it's just really fun to me to look at the whole course of the run and be impressed by how far you've come after it's over 6 hours later. My favorite part is the planning involved - there's something so satisfying to me about seeing the runner make some kind of preparation early on in the game and having it pay off hours later, like picking up an item early to use in the final boss fight and the like. Because it's a long run there's lots of opportunities for interesting planning and routing decisions and if the runner is good at explaining what they're doing and why I get really wrapped up in it. Love to curl up on the couch with a long run, get settled in, and just watch it unfold and go on that journey.
