Really been enjoying reading these, it's a fun trip down memory lane.

I loved Brawl > Melee, even though I loved both games about the same. I hated Melee > CT more than any match even though I love both games there too. I suppose I'm not too pleased with the Melee fanbase or that my opinions of what would felt like the more correct result meant as much as what game I prefer personally.

I asked two topics back in the opening post if anyone could break 40% on Link. People said no. And while it didn't happen at first, well, Cloud did it! It would've been so disappointing years ago, but today, it's an accomplishment. Congrats, Cloud!

Honestly, it's because people are still angry Mario defeated Crono in 2003. Outside of beating Samus a couple of days ago Mario has been very non-controversial for 15 years.

Even though Mario winning twice would have been amazing and would've made me finish on the leaderboard, man does it feel great to see Cloud work his way to the finals. In a contest where everyone took almost every chance to laugh at Final Fantasy, Cloud is making his way to be number #2 even today.

I just have a really hard time seeing someone unexpected getting to the semis destroying NN'ers without getting a bit of a bandwagon. I saw at least half the board hoping she won that match because it's new and unexpected.

No proof of this. Basically lines up with Samus/Mario's results once you take the Nintendo hierarchy into account, which we know for a fact exists. And if an FF7 hierarchy exists, it goes in Sephiroth's direction, not the other way around.

The problem with taking Tifa/Seph at face value (beside the hentai rally fuckery) is how bad that makes Ryu look, who has no reason to have dropped that much in strength.

Yeah, exactly. This is why I believe in Zelda bandwagon and perhaps a bit of rSFF in Zelda/Mario (it's in line with tge hierarchy). Not saying Samus/Mario has none of it, but everything before the legends bracket looks ridiculouslt wonky if you take Tifa/Seph at face value, even moreso if you think Seph is higher in that hierarchy today.
