2 years after Boo was defeated the OVA special happens where Trunks and Goten fight two fools that were on par with Freiza on namek
2 years after that Beerus arrives
1 year after that Freiza is revived and then killed again
1 year after that Tournament of power takes place, Freiza brought back to life and Broly becomes canon

So at the very least they have a year before Goku fucks off and doesn't contact his friends and family for 5 years when he returns for Uub, I'm smelling some recons because just being as strong as Kid Buu might not be enough for Goku to take interest in Uub anymore after the likes of Beerus, Freiza, Zamasu,Jiren and Broly, he'd probably have to be as strong as Fused Zamasu now with potencal to become stronger than even Broly with the right training for Goku to care.
