Thompson lived with only a tiny sliver of health (39 HP) left on her, but the team behind her was almost entirely unscathed. Now I'll try a run where Team 3 is the one going after the boss. EDIT: Team 3 was not nearly as lucky. They found the boss on the map, started the battle, and got completely wiped out. My shotgun tank was completely dead before Ouroboros was even on the screen, and PPK didn't last much longer after that. From there, the back line just fell one by one. | Calwings 08/01/18 1:20:17 AM #356 | Update on my teams, all shown below. Teams 3 and 4 are my primary night battle teams, and I'm going to test them to see if I can beat Cube 4 tonight. I could turn team 1 into a night battle team as well if I really wanted/needed to, and if I did that, I would swap which team FAL and AR-15 are on. Grenade damage ignores armor, so having FAL's grenades (along with Skorpion and SOPMOD firing them as well) would make up for the lack of any unit with AP rounds on that team.      I plan on benching FAMAS (for G41) and Type-56 (for 6P62) once I get those better alternatives leveled up, and I also have a few more other units (M1918, M37, Suomi, and Tokarev) that I plan on leveling up in the near future. But Cookie is right that there are some missions in the game that may not be winnable unless you simply get better units, especially if one of your main team members is statistically one of the worst units in the game. If you won't swap out AK-47, I would recommend at least building up another echelon to use for those situations where that team with AK-47 won't be able to get the job done. And Cookie, I agree with you that there's a certain point where using your favorites turns into actively gimping your chances to win battles. But in the end, it's Pop's game to play. You can't keep ragging on him for wanting to stick by his favorites. If/when he hits that wall where the missions are too tough to beat with the team he has, it's up to him to decide what to do from there. Whether he accepts the challenge and changes his team to win that battle, or doesn't bother with that battle at all, it's his decision to make. I have a squad like that, with UMP45, M4A1, HK416, FAMAS (later to be replaced with G41 once I train her up) and OTs-12. It really isn't necessary at all, especially since you won't have a SG to pair it with until once you clear enough missions to unlock Heavy Production. But even then, having one MG in a squad and buffing it with a HG (or a SG if you're far enough to have one) is fine for early/mid-game. Using more than one MG early on is asking for trouble though, since they cost a lot of resources to keep running. | Calwings 07/29/18 6:25:48 PM #9 | I absolutely agree with you that games being released in a broken or unfinished state at full price shouldn't be as common as it is now, and it's a big problem. If you have to release a game at full price that's so messed up that it needs another six months or even longer to fix it and make it how it should have been at launch, then at least reward the players who bought the game early and stuck with you through the bad times some sort of "loyalty reward" for doing so. In-game items, one free DLC pack, something to make them feel like their loyalty to the game and developer was worth suffering through a broken or unfinished game. For cheap indie stuff, it's not as big of a deal. But for supposedly AAA titles costing $60, even more for a deluxe edition, it's huge. Sadly, this isn't a perfect and just world, and most developers wouldn't give free stuff just for loyalty. That being said, I'm of the mindset that if you enjoy the game enough, even if it takes some fixing after launch, you should show support to the developer as a fan of the game. I would rather the next game in the series be released with flaws and fixed later than have that next game never exist at all because the developer simply didn't bother.
