I don't think they told us when it started involving real people.
Also I think it's somewhat of a social commentary. Like we don't have a problem seeing strangers locked up for months on end (Big Brother) and violent fictional media (Saw franchise, for example). It's only a matter of time before we're cool with seeing people getting killed on screen.

This is something some of you already knew: I hate Gaston. Both the character and the song.
Though I don't mind the live action version so much (I still hate the message, but it sounds...better). Anyway, not seeing the despicable man on screen does help. The tune is fun and catchy if I just don't listen too hard to the lyrics, and the orchestration is really good. I do like that they use a whole pub to tell this story of the man who's more of a monster than the Beast. I still don't like Gaston, but it's a good and unique way to write a villain song.

57. Another Day of Sun

I didn't like La La Land as much as the general public. Mainly because there were not too many songs I liked and there are so few crowd songs.
Well, Another Day of Sun is one of them and it's honestly a good and catchy tune but I just have some problem that...who the heck are singing this song? Are they all showbiz dreamers? Nothing really points at it since they were just...randos stuck in traffic jam. The song is more about the leads...Mia and...Kevin? that doesn't sound right. Or about the movie's themes. But that means these randos are just props and not really characters in their own right singing about what's actually relevant to them so yeah why should I care about them.
To be fair, it might be an homage to old style of musicals where they can just have anyone passing by the set to sing the crowd songs and call it a day, doesn't mean I have to like it. And then again I think of classic musical movie (let's say The Wizard of Oz) and even then the crowd singing the song actually makes more sense than La La Land's.

Yeah, there's been some discussions about that.

However, people noticed that Sans said Toriel asked him to keep Kris away from chocolate because they'd eat all of them, establishing a connection to Chara's love of chocolate (also a piece of dialogue where if you choose 'NO' when the game asks you to smell the markers at the school, the narration says something like 'whatever, the chocolate ones smell fake anyway').
And things like hiding under Noelle's bed or pretending to be bleeding using ketchup and such are also Chara-like things.

So other than my 'Chara took over Kris in the epilogue', it can also be either Chara = Kris (directly or with alternate universe shenanigans), Chara took over the 'real' Kris like with Frisk since years ago, or they just share the same love for chocolate and macabre humor.

One thing for sure, it was Kris 'we' were controlling at the beginning since the save file said Kris before our first save over it.

I have a theory that the Angel's Heaven is actually Hometown.

In Undertale, the info we get about the angel is as such:
There is a prophecy. The Angel... The One Who Has Seen The Surface... They will return. And the underground will go empty.

The one who has seen the surface are Asriel and Chara.

Asriel would find Hometown akin to a heaven (Chara is more of a psycho), since it's full of the monsters living in the underground but they're living free above ground and have a normal, functioning society. Asriel is also nowhere to be seen in Hometown (since he's away on college) but is talked about with such fondness, so he's almost mythical -- like an angel.

There's also a church in town and the Dreemurs were (are?) devout followers. I can't remember if they explicitly worship the Angel but it sounds likely.

So yeah, I'm thinking that Hometown is something like Asriel's ideal world that came into being for...some reason. Perhaps by the power of the fountains.

Also I'm not truly sure on this next bit, but Asriel might've seen the monsters of the underground but not really got the time to know them well. Hence why everyone is slightly off: Bratty and Catty are not friends, Alphys and Undine don't know each other, and Sans is new in town. As opposed to Frisk, who got to know them.

One thing that throws a wrench into this theory is the fact that Toriel and Asgore are separated, so it's not a truly ideal world for Asriel.

Then, if we 'banish the Heaven' it might mean putting an end to Homeworld. And Chara's (?) arrival in the epilogue might be them going into their brother's Heaven in order to wreck it.

Really, Ellie? She's basically either a helpless dead weight trope ('Oh look, she's immune to the zombie plague!') that just whines and distract you from the clickers, or a "badass" prepubescent lesbian made to pander to the sickest of white straight men. There's no logical progression, just a bunch of writers throwing a bunch of random crap to see what sticks.

Meanwhile, KOS-MOS is...I don't know, I've only played Xenosaga 2 for like 15 minutes.

Yeah, Scream is great in that it's very watchable both as someone new into the horror genre (though the references might be lost) or as a horror aficionado, it has a bit for everyone. I also like the revelation of culprit in the first movie.

As for Pennywise...I actually haven't seen the OG movie. But Skarsgard is definitely memorable and unnerving.

61. Telephone Hour

Okay, so #TIL that the Birdie in the title is a man and supposedly based on Elvis Presley. I always pictured the character as a girl because it of the title similarity with Kiss Me Kate and, to a lesser extent, Thoroughly Modern Millie.
As for the song itself it tells the story of teens living in Sweet Apple, OH, gossiping about this girl named Kim (no relation to Miss Saigon's Kim) who just went steady with her beau. The thing is, she was about to quit the Birdie (a rock star) fan club but found out she was chosen to get Birdie's last kiss before he was drafted to fight the Civil War or something.
Though it's a fun way to introduce Kim's situation, the chorus themselves don't really have a shred of personality, which kinda takes away from it. The voices can also be grating, are they simulating teenagers voice breaking? And sometimes the way they deliver the lines are kinda weird. Just not very enjoyable to listen to, at least for me.
I like the concept more than the execution. I am sure it's much better on stage and I am intrigued by the staging potential of this song.

60. Where's Rebecca Bunch?

I like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as much as the next guy but by how many songs they must write and produce each episode, it's no wonder (and no knock against the show) that it's more often a miss than a hit, at least for me. And while this song is rather funny (at least in the beginning where they pretend West Covina is a medieval village) by the half point I'm just mostly bored, especially because I'm not digging the tune itself.

59. I've Got A Dream

This doesn't sound pleasant at all. It's also kinda gross. The melody is just simplistic and it's almost catchy but just...not there. Definitely the weakest song in Tangled and sadly its only crowd song. And these randos are probably horrible people and their war crimes are hand waved just because they have ironic dreams? They also get formulaic after a while. Probably should've added one guy whose dream is as horrible as you'd expect.

V3 is the most Dangan Ronpa a Dangan Ronpa game could be, so there's that. If you like DR you'd like it, vice versa.

On the flip side I think 999 got the right amount of wackiness, gore, escape games, and mindfuckery the first time. The rest are fine but I'd say only 999 stands well on its own. Well, I suppose the later games (and ports from what I heard from this topic) added quality-of-life features.
