I hate Jordan Peterson because he is a charlatan, he rips off other people's work and basic philosophies, he has a very shaky grasp of history and science outside of his own field, and he's basically a modern self-help guru with a political agenda.

The weird thing about this image specifically is that someone went all the way back to 2012 recently to screengrab this because the Twitter name is Battlefield V.

That's because they are desperate to make this a two sided issue. It's not. The games have always been quite ahistorical. They just included women this time (which, while greatly exaggerated, is not completely wrong), which some people are mad about because they want to play a mythical version of the game that is in their heads (or, they might have personal biases against it).

But seriously, DICE was just sort of like, 'Okay then, guess the game isn't for you' and that was apparently 'bad PR'. I'm not really sure what else they were supposed to do, but manbabies gonna manbaby.

Because DICE acted like idiots and instead of pulling the correct PR move of saying they felt like going in a less serious direction or something, they called everyone bigots who didn't know history and said please don't buy the game.

They handled it fine. Don't 'both sides' it. I think the difficulty with this explanation is that it relies on being able to pick any part of the Bible are allegorical and which are literal. The book itself is very clear that it is a matter of fact, and you can't say any of the Old Testament is allegorical because it contains the supposed chronology from Adam to Jesus (through David). The Bible is also pretty explicit about things like Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel, the 12 Plagues, and the Exodus. Obviously, those can't be literal, but it comes off as illogical to pick out all the parts that are false and say those are allegorical but the other parts aren't.

Also, I asked in another topic, but you never answered; are you trying to evangelize here or are you looking for a Christian community to discuss these things with? If it's the former, it's a bit obnoxious. If it's the latter, there is better places to discuss this. Or is this just a weak troll/gimmick?

Oh yeah, I tell people they look good when they look good, but only if I know them. So far, I've never had a complaint, but if someone told me that it made them uncomfortable, I'd apologize and be sure to stop immediately.

Battlefield is not historically accurate, nor has it ever been. BF1, in particular, had some massive anachronisms. If you want to learn about the World Wars, pick up a fucking book from an accredited historian or take a class.

People like to arbitrary draw lines about balance or gameplay, but realistically, they chose the settings. It's not like it was forced on them.

Either way, though, these guys are fucking missing out because BFV is one of the tightest and most entertaining BF games in awhile. They really listened to fans and fixed pretty much all the things people didn't like about the last couple entries.

I guess admitting that doesn't get as many clicks and doesn't really feed into the whole imaginary SJW-paranoia narrative, though.

The tech trees are not historically accurate. They adjust them for the sake of convenience and balance. Sometimes they have to put technologies with tangentially related discoveries, or create a linear progression where there wasn't one, or make a discovery tied to an unrelated technology.

While I'm on this: There is a difference between "news" and "editorial/opinion". The 24 hour news cycle is padded way out with editorial/opinion. 1 hour of news programming is 3 minutes of news, 20 minutes of commercials, and 37 minutes of editorial/opinion segments.

You have to remember that Trump has actively sought to discredit the media as if it was some ominous, nebulous, fraternal conspiracy. The reality is that most media outlets don't even agree on their editorial stances. Realistically, the media is reflective; they are individual businesses who only sell what people are willing to buy. It's ridiculous to think they are some sort of conspiracy to dethrone Trump for no reason.

The reality is that his blatant attacks on them have made most outlets less generous towards him, and the fact remains that people keep tuning in, so they don't really have much choice in the matter.

Technically, it's the second, but it depends on the building and its purpose. Hotels and apartments tend to make the it the first, because the entrance is considered the lobby/ground level, and separate.

Regardless of the quality of the game, the 'realism' thing is pretty obvious marketing hype. Yeah, horse balls shrink, but you still have a posse of 7 fully armed deputies, already on their horses, even if you kill someone in the middle of the wilderness. So what's the point?
