I thought that Leverage would be a serious, hard-hitting drama but it was the complete opposite. The commercials didn't even tell you how light-hearted and comical the show would be.

I agree with this as well. The commercials did not win me over to this show. I happened to catch a rerun one day and was hooked. 5 seasons later and it is one of my top 3 favorite shows.

The Good Place is another one. I expected a run of the mill comedy but this show subverts just about every sitcom trope out there, like every episode it reinvents itself.

I like Leverage but that's also the problem, it never feels like there's a really serious threat they are facing. It is too light-hearted.

I felt the same way, that's why I liked the "darker" episodes best (Nate's father for one), and the series finale

If you can, open the computer and look to see if the light on the GPU comes on when you boot (and if the fan starts spinning)

If it is booting into safe mode, I don't think your GPU physically burned out (or had a mechanical defect) - when the fan on mine died, the whole computer would shut down soon after boot. It may be a software conflict from the software?

My first memory was around 5/6, I was at the house of my dad's friend and he showed us a game called Mask of the Sun on the Apple 2E. Didn't actually get sucked in till years later (8/9) when my dad got us an XT and some of the first Sierra "quest" games - King's Quest etc Mostly played adventure games till high school, when I got into RTS with C&C and WC 2

I've always enjoyed the theory that Event Horizon is a "prequel" to 40k even though there's tons of holes in it.

I quit watching right there, the show felt like it was just falling apart. Still haven't watched the rest except for the ending a couple of years later which turned out to be a complete wet fart.

I even bought all the DVDs and that's like six seasons that have sat on my shelf unwatched for years and years. I really should watch them someday since I loved the show up until Sharona left, but you know, DVDs. I have to put a disc in my PS4, and it's not even in HD. Like who has that kinda willpower these days

also I don't have Netflix because I broke up with my girlfriend and she's since changed the password and my parents canceled it years ago and I'm not about to start paying for it myself even though I can afford it because wah wah wah wah wah

You really should watch the one after Sharona left.. she and her son definitely had better/more believable interactions w/ Monk, but a lot of the episodes after dove further into his pathos (beyond the surface level humor).

I just realized how messed up and horrific that episode really was. Batman's expression even was like "I never seen s*** like this before!"

Oddly, as a kid I did find it that way.

I think it's also important to mention that just because people who drink and drive claim that they drive fine when drunk doesn't mean it's not true when people who smoke and drive claim they can drive just fine. One phenomenon doesn't have to automatically cross over to another. They are different substances.

The only reason I see people would recognize Kanye differently than Taylor about being vocal about his opinions is because they have prejudice toward Kanye because of his race.

I'm in the same camp as you TC - watched the first bc the premise (waking up inside a maze) sounded intriguing, but when they revealed WHY, the whole thing seemed to devolve.. which was just emphasized by the second movie. The third was surprisingly better, especially as a finale to the story arc.
