yeah, he wasn't the one who started it and obviously he was emotional so i'll give him some leeway, but he still handled it very poorly.

totally disagree with you on the "he should have beat the shit out of them" thing. i'm sure a lot of people would agree with you but i'm too pacifist to agree with that solution. i actually hated that he was constantly threatening them with violence ("I'MA FUCK ALL YOU MOTHERFUCKERS UP! YOU, HIM, HIM AND HIM!") and almost attacked the fat asian kid until being stopped by the old lady - it just made him seem like a lunatic to me. i'd much rather he attacked them with arguments (though he didn't strike me as a great debater, so who knows who well that would have gone).

Sorry, but that really is the only solution. You're not gonna debate these guys into changing how they operate. Sad but true. Some people only understand one thing, and again I hope they'll soon find what they're yearning for.

Even though he had a bad reaction, I find it hard to judge him in this situation. I doubt it's his first time having this happen to him, being an older black guy I bet it's not something that he's unaccustomed to hearing. Hard to know if you haven't been in his shoes. I don't necessarily agree with it and wished he handled it better. But another part of me wishes he found these people after the video ended and beat the shit out of them.

They were talking about singing Christmas Carols and randomly adding in words like "KFC" and "watermelon". The fat asian guy said this. It's funny they upload a video and use an annoying shit word like "triggered" like that wasn't their intent; all their content is literally them trying to piss off black people and being surprised when they get pissed off.

And yeah, that second video is the one I ended up clicking on and seeing that disgusting shit commentary in the comments section. Really repulsive there's so many of these pathetic wastes of life.

The biggest difference between this and other instances is her actual stance on the matter though. Her fake apology followed up by blaming Ambien all the way to today; actually attacking her co-stars who want to distance themselves from her message. It's unreal that someone would spent so many years in the lives of these actors would basically scold them for not standing with her right now. Especially in the case of Michael Fishman, whom she has to be a near mother to due to how young he was in the 90's. The man has had nothing of a career many of his costars have had and she destroys what was probably a well paying job for him. Then she gets upset at him for not being supportive of her.

Other people apologize and try to reform in some way. They don't just keep digging the hole.

Also you can't really defend your argument because Maher didn't "call someone a house n-word" on his show once. He used the phrase referring to himself. Inappropriate, but far different than attacking someone else directly. Well, normal people would think so at least.

Despite not watching the reboot I'm honestly kinda saddened by this. I liked the original (I actually watched TV then, I don't now), I liked the idea of a mainstream sitcom having a clear moderate conservative view since the opposite is much more common.

But that tweet was pretty awful. Hard to blame some people not wanting to work on the show after that. It sucks.

It's unfortunate because the plan was to move away from politics in the next season by a large amount, and go back to the format they used in the early 90s. Roseanne was a trendsetting show back in the day; it definitely didn't lose any of its cultural impact either as critics were shown. It's tough because I generally like the cast of the show. They're generally very entertaining people who don't deserve to have the show cancelled because the lead can't control her political rhetoric. There's absolutely no defending this though. It's PR suicide to continue on with an actress that can't put her politics aside, at least when it comes to brutal remarks like this.
