Welcome to King of the Mountain, a long-running Save My style contest in which we attempt to identify the best representative of a particular job/class/type of character across all fictional media. No need to look up in the sky any longer for our 25th contest, because Superheroes have finally arrived!

What is a Superhero?

As is the custom, here is where I try to explain the type of characters I am looking for. This one should be simple but I bet people will try their best to make it not be. Most all superheroes are referred to as such, either by themselves or in their respective media. Typically there is no mistaking it. I am going to just hope people know what a superhero is and go from there. For the record, you don't need a "superpower" to be a superhero, because I'm not gonna have that sort of discussion. The only thing I will note specifically is that "anti-hero" sorts are considered superheroes by me so long as they do the typical superhero sort of stuff (fighting evil/crime, assuming a secret identity/costume, etc.). This should really be self-explanatory; as always, if you feel you need to ask, maybe try not nominating that character to force them into a category they don't fit into.

A small note; some superheroes have multiple people who assume the identity. If you'd like to nominate a specific hero that is well known to have multiple users of the identity, be sure you note who you're nominating. The list will be assembled by superhero name however, not by actual name.

Rules:

-You may nominate 5 characters every hour.
-A character needs 3 unique nominations to make the field.
-The first 100 characters to be successfully nominated will make up the field.
-Characters may be from any sort of media but must be fictional in nature.
-I reserve the right to disqualify any nomination I see unfit.
-Nominations may continue in the topic until the list is finalized.

It's less about interest and more about the fact this is not super popular. When you nominate categories like that... it makes a struggling contest struggle that much more. I resented Bears mostly because many people who pushed the category didn't even participate much. So long as people play it doesn't really matter the category; I do think Reptiles offers a great sort of mix however, with both feral representatives and humanoids with reptilian features.

That said I still stand behind Shapeshifters, Demons and Gunners among the best categories yet to be done. Most of the ones up top at the moment are all decent though.
