So a coworker who is sitting like 40 feet away makes a phone call asking someone if they know any burn remedies. She's like "yeah that was the only thing I could think of too, cool water. I told her that and to hang up and call a doctor." Apparently some kid related to her (I heard the name but no relation; maybe a granddaughter) spilled some noodles on herself and got burned pretty badly.

About fifteen minutes pass and she gets a phone call. Over the phone and 40-ish feet away I can hear this girl screaming, still, at least fifteen minutes later.

Now my coworker is leaving for the hospital. Sounds terrible, like she might be in the hospital for a while. I think I'm gonna go get some candy or something to give to the coworker to give to the patient. Maybe just put it on her desk with a note so she knows it's not a mistake. I wish I could do more.

book about how jesus is the son of god proves jesus is the son of god by having someone in the book say "oh, jesus must be the son of god!"

yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Here's a statement from somebody a little more in the know:

Matthew 3:13-17
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?

15 Jesus replied, Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness. Then John consented.

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

It must have been the display of power Jesus showed by ripping a curtain in half.

The curtain of the temple was a big deal, actually.

Hebrews 9:1-7
Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. 2 A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand and the table with its consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. 3 Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, 4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aarons staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. 5 Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

6 When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. 7 But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

Leviticus 16:2
The Lord said to Moses: Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses into the Most Holy Place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark, or else he will die. For I will appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.

And it's noteworthy, too, that it tore from top to bottom. The curtain being torn basically meant the void between God and man had been reconciled by Jesus' death.

How did Jesus prove he was the son of God again? Turning water into wine?

He fulfilled I forget how many hundred prophecies about the Messiah. If you're asking about a specific moment that convinced people, though, here's one:

Mark 15:37-39
37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.

38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, Surely this man was the Son of God!

How does anyone know that god was supposed to be an indirect author of the Bible? It takes more trust than I'm willing to give to believe that a higher being was talking to them and they wrote it down.

Well that's up to you.

Though it's a little more involved than God telling people what to write down. For example, Solomon was given wisdom from God which he then used to write his works. In another example, Jesus found desciples who would then record his life. Etc.
