Dude, every pay service wants more and more. The fact that people are so rebellious about an unnecessary hike in price shows me that people are sick and tired of paying more for EVERYTHING. Most of us consider ourselves lucky if we can pay the exhorbitant prices for rent. If we are fortunate enough to have an entertainment budget, we dont need another massive corporation deciding that they need another dollar.

Fuck them and more power to the people who are boycotting them.

1) Hulu, Amazon video...pretty much anywhere else. Netflix doesn't have much going for it to be honest.
2) Who are you to tell people what they can and can't afford? It's called budget plans and sticking to it; some people can't be assed with paying the extra dollar a month.
3) That's just an assumption. Coffee is cheap as fuck. You can get a bag of mid-tier coffee for 7-8 dollars and it'll last at least a few weeks.

Hulu is a dollar a month if you have spotify and has a wider selection. Netflix has a bunch of their own shows which are poorly written for the most part. Hell, even Stranger Things didn't have great writing and people eat that shit up like candy.

This is the thing

They are just making their service worse. Honestly it's hard for me to justify having a subscription at all, let alone when they are getting worse.

This is the exact attitude that lets them get away with this. Same thing goes for video game developers who charge us $60 for half of a game and then want us to pay another $60 in DLC to either get the whole game or to have a fair chance online.

Why are costumers so greedy and want everything for free??

The amount of content and hours yall spend a month watching Netflix is GREAT VALUE

A movie ticket cost just as much and thats like 2 hours worth of entertainment

Of course they won't. The gap between Netflix's cost and the cost of Cable is huge. They have a ton of room to play with.

Who needs cable? If you feel the need to have TV you have a problem.

For the most part I'd agree. OITNB and Stranger Things aside, Netflix's original content bores me. Just a bunch of standup comedy specials and Adam Sandler straight to video movies.

When you're poor, a few dollars is worth a lot more to you. Guess who largely makes up the target demographic for a $8-10/mo media subscription service.

People who can afford $8-$10 a month

Im sure these same people can afford $11 a month.

Not buying coffee for a day in a month? Bam you just saved $3 there

Watching the latest movie @ the movies which goes for 2 hours = $10-$12 a ticket

Watching 2 tv shows or a couple of movies a month on Netflix = $10 and already better value as you spend just the same amount of time for entertainment

Like Netflix is incredible entertainment value for the price, but hey $1 price hike wheres my pitch fork

Netflix was so much better in 2011.

It had shows like Married With Children, Rocko's Modern Life, King of the Hill, Futurama, Family Guy, etc...

Instead of paying Adam Sandler half a billion dollars, they should have paid companies like Viacom and Fox for more content...
