I think a lot of people miss the point of comedy.

If you're making a joke, saying "You're momma's so ugly" it's funny.
If you're just saying "You're momma's so ugly" you're an asshole.

It's like Ricky Gervais. His transgender joke about transitioning into a monkey. A lot of people found it offensive. Though to be fair, I think that's mostly because a lot of people will take it seriously and be like "Yeah, I totally agree!" and take it as a serious argument.

Now, jokes CAN go too far. Especially if you're bad at it. (See: Trump's attempt in 2016 at comedy). I don't think Michelle Wolf's jokes went very far. Especially when everyone's complaining about how PC we've become.

Winners:
Broncos
Jets

Losers:
Browns (Like people called to Jury duty, they're required to be here)
Seahawks

Other teams could probably be tossed in either category. But I'm hesitant to just add them. Really drafts are best graded 3 years later.

President Donald Trump on Republicans and African-Americans: If you go back to the Civil War, "it was the Republicans that really did the thing."

You know, the thing

One thing I really don't get:

How Republicans in one hand can say "Democrats were the slave owners, and south!"

Then when Democrats are like "Hey, you know what? Let's take those confederate statues down."

They scream "OUR HERITAGE!"

It's like they don't realize that Democrat today isn't the same as Democrat 150 years ago. But then DO realize it, and celebrate those Democrats they demonize for simply being CALLED Democrats. The same people they revere any other time.

Green Party I agree with on a lot of things, but Jill Stein is a whacko who stands no chance of winning anyway.

And if I want a say in who's running for office on the party (at least in my state) I have to be a registered member of the party.

The reasoning for a lot of Trump's appointments was to put people who had negative views of the departments in charge of them to fix them to what they are supposed to be. Limiting overreach and excessive regulation.

The EPA's stated goal is to literally PROTECT the environment.

NOT to destroy it like Scott Pruitt wants to do. And that's not to mention all the favors he's been getting from lobbyists. Literally defending a swamp monster. That's not surprising though. Republicans LOVE Swamp Monsters. As long as they have an R next to their name.

Burdick v. United States should tell you all you need to know about pardons and the 5th amendment.

George Burdick took the 5th amendment, and refused to testify and reveal his source. The President (Wilson) offered him a pardon to try to get him to testify. He refused the pardon, and it was ruled in the Burdick case that he didn't have to testify because he did not accept the pardon.

Also I really doubt Voldemort knows what NASA is. Most Wizards don't know how telephones work. You really think they know NASA unless they're a muggle born? They're shocked we can fly without a hovering spell. Tell them we went to space, and their heads probably EXPLODE. Now Voldemort did grow up in an orphanage, but--that was before man even made it into space. (Gagarin didn't go into space until Voldy was 35

Besides, I think he really wanted that job as Defense Against the Dark Arts job. Imagine if Voldemort was DADA teacher. I think he'd have at least been better than Umbridge. Maybe Voldemort didn't REALLY want the job, but imagine Dumbledore just GAVE it to him anyway. He'd be far too busy teaching to become the DARK LORD. Yeah, he'd have access to young minds to shape and mold them for EVIL, but he'd also be under Dumbledore's ever watchful eye. Probably far less effective than being a wizard without a job, tapping into the minds of the evil wizards (which is pretty easy to do anyway, since MOST of them come from a Single House. Looking at you Hufflepuff.)

In fact imagine students thinking it's just NOT cool hanging out with their professor after class. Death Eaters totally not a thing, and Voldemort eventually gives up his dreams of world domination.

I think this right here is why Spanking doesn't really work that well. "I wouldn't do this because my dad would have beat me for it!" Shouldn't you never shoot up a school because you know killing people is... wrong?

It teaches this idea that might makes right. If fear of punishment is the only thing making your kid behave, then I have to wonder what's going to happen when that fear is gone.

Maybe their parents are abusive, or maybe they've been bullied in the past themselves. None of this makes bullying right. But beating a kid sends the wrong message. but i'll admit i tend to stay away from social media so i have no idea what was going on out there

That's how I saw it too.

I remember some Bernie supporters coming out (not here I don't think, but other places) saying they would vote for Trump. Which to me never made any sense, and made me wonder if they ever really supported Bernie, or were just hoping he'd defeat Hillary (and then start attacking Sanders)

I think Bernie Sanders said it very well, when he said that people should start running for office. Local office, state office. And I think a lot of them are taking it to heart. Which is a good thing. Though I think if we added Hillary as President to that, we'd be much better off. For one thing Neil Gorsuch wouldn't be a Supreme Court Justice. And who knows who Trump will put on there next, making it next to impossible to overturn the one decision we all want to be overturned: Citizens United)

Conservatives: HOW DOES THIS EFFECT ME?!
Liberals: How does this effect everyone?

Trump is actively working to roll back protections for LGBT+ folks, including my sister and her wife.
Trump is working to have GUNS put in Schools, where they absolutely shouldn't be. And of course he's cowering to the NRA after calling out Republican Politicians for doing the same thing
Trump and his EPA are destroying the environment. I kind of like breathing clean air.
He put a tariff on Solar Energy to protect stupid coal
Banned Transgender people from the military
Filled his cabinet with the worst people. Including a woman so unqualified to be secretary of education you could literally pick up a phone book, flip to a random page, and point to a random name, and you'd have a good chance at having a better qualified secretary of education. A secretary of education who's doing her best to make it harder for college kids (including my own kids) to afford a college education, and put them further in debt.
Pardoned Sheriff Joe, which condoned racial profiling. Which certainly effects my brother-in-law, who is black. And one of my nieces and nephews who are bi-racial.
Did his best to destroy the Affordable Care Act, making it harder for people who need health insurance to get it

My mother? No.

My father? Yeah, as long as I don't have to pay for it.

She's 13. Which is about the age I was when I played it.

I just call her Nadia.

As characters I'd say:

Crono > Magus > Frog > Marle > Robo > Ayla > Lucca

All are pretty good characters though. Gotta dig out my SNES this summer, and try to get my daughter to play it. Especially now that I've found my copy. Though maybe I'll just get her the DS version. Is the DS version worth it if you have a working SNES copy?
