I crafted Geddon yesterday even though I have no real intention of using him in a deck at the moment. I crafted Elise, and then proceeded to not play her. When the expansion came out, I was convinced I would be playing some kind of Hagatha deck and crafted that, and then haven't used her. I was strangely obsessed with it. Screw those shamans and especially druids that made jade so hated in everyone's minds, but I loved my JR. | azuarc 07/10/18 9:49:47 PM #98 | A couple months ago, I was excited for the changes to ladder and thought I would gradually push my way to legend. I simply haven't cared about standard since this expansion came out, though. I went from rank 4 to rank 6, to rank 8 to I think I'm rank 12 at this point. And tonight I caught up on the wild ladder while running the table with a jade shaman deck that hit a solid slate of good match-ups up until the very end when a fatigue druid turned out to be a taunt druid, and I hadn't saved hex for Lich King. | azuarc 07/08/18 11:48:50 PM #7 | Stardew Valley was the work of one man, who loved Harvest Moon but was unhappy with the clumsy way it mishandled a bunch of things to make the game unsatisfying. I don't think his goal was to create a smash runaway success rivaling the best AAA games available for digital download. So trying to put words into the mouth of his "development studio" is a bit ridiculous. And the game's not shallow. It can get redundant and repetitive quickly, but that's true of all games. It can be easy to game the system, but that's true of most games. It's a sandbox-esque experience where there are tangible goals to follow if you need tangible goals, and if you pursue those ruthlessly, congrats, you can "beat" the game. One is standard survival, built around a theme of light. The other is an easier list for reasons I won't specify, but it's also extra long. I'm debating which to do. I thought it was hot out this way until I just saw an article on Yahoo that Los Angeles topped its record high yesterday....BY FOURTEEN DEGREES. I mean, yeah, it's a heat wave in this region, but I saw the previous high of 94 and laughed because that's not all that strange in July. Even when you chose to make her take a strong stance on something, she was still wishy-washy. I remember an encounter between Chloe and David where you have to choose sides, and I was surprised by how, seemingly out of nowhere, she was really forceful with David if you take Chloe's side. That was what made me realize that she really hadn't been very strong with anything else up to (or thru) that point. First game, everything aligns perfectly and I hit my opponent with a 32/32 turtle-dude on turn 5. Next two games, everything seems to be aligning perfectly again, except my opponent is even faster than I am.
