In some games, easy mode let you play up to some points, but the final sections are exclusive to normal upwards.

I hear that often, but the only games that I know that do that are old school beat em ups. Anyone have any other examples, preferably more recent ones?

I never play on easy, so I wouldn't know

Fast space travel just seems too difficult or not possible at all.

There are ways to speed up the grinding.

It also helps to teach mages (and main characters) different varieties of magic.

this game is easy just use magic uses. they are way over powered in this game.

I really can't see how that could happen.

-Publisher decides that a license holder should no longer be able to use a game (for whatever reason)
-Publisher determines which copy of that game license holder has (discs are uniquely identified)
-Publisher gets hardware company to push out firmware update that blocks all copies of that system from being able to play that copy of the disc
-Next time ex-license holder takes their system online, their physical copy of the game will no longer work

In all likelihood, what would actually happen is that the former license holder would be issued a fine for whatever violation they committed to warrant revoking the license, since that's a pretty convoluted method, but it would still be possible. It's also almost assuredly never going to happen, since taking paying customers' games away from them is extremely bad PR, regardless of the medium.

Both are great movies but Elsa is hot so my vote goes to Frozen.

Our free will manifests itself as self control. There are many things I want to do: If someone cuts me off in traffic, I *want* to blast right past them and flip them off, but I don't. If I have already had all my calories for the day, I might still want that piece of cake, but I don't have it.

Yes, when you hit puberty you have urges, and you may not be in complete control of your body and its functions, but you do have a choice in how you react to it.

That happens to me a lot too. It's like you like the game so much you subconsciously don't want it to end, so you just kinda stop playing so you technically don't get to the end.

I got like halfway through Majoras Mask on the N64. I finally made it to the last boss on the 3ds version and I haven't finished it or picked it up since then lol

Those are exceptions tho. I think I read somewhere that normal people won't be able to do that faster than 1/100 seconds if not lower.

Hence I said fighter pilot. I tried framing it as an upper limit, my apologies if I failed at getting that across.

Also, this was not just a light test, the pilots were shown pictures of planes for 1/200th second and managed to retain and correctly name it, a certain percentage of the time I suppose.

Sexual content, on the other hand, does pretty much nothing for gameplay

so they test this by putting someone in a dark room and turning on the light for a .001 seconds and see if they can tell if they saw anything.

A quick google search does confirm some research has been done. Highly trained individuals (fighter pilots in this case) were able to recognize and retain something only seen for 1/220 of a second, so 220 FPS in their case.

I've haven't really played the DOA games, but couldn't that argument apply to anything?

I mean let's change the argument of sexual content to violence.
Why should you care about violence/gore in games such as Doom, Mortal Kombat, Gears of War, The Last of Us, GTA, etc. if you can find that type of content in other forms of media?
People would be pissed if any of those franchises actively tried to tone down the violence for future installments...

These days, most new games require day one patches to work anyway, even when purchased physically. You're going to be very hard-pressed to keep your console offline forever, and once it's online, it wouldn't take long at all to render it unable to read your copy. Furthermore, if you're issued a legal order to stop using the license, continuing to use it would open you up to lawsuits regardless of whether or not they can actually deactivate your game.

Power isn't the #1 factor in a gaming platform.
