I knew it was a gamble going in, but I saw this as the only thing I could reasonably do that would give me a shot at a reasonable wage. Unlike my BA, I actually have a career goal that the MS might help me achieve, and if that doesn't pan out then there are other uses for it in the field. |

| Uglyface2 05/22/18 9:24:59 PM #322 | I reduced the speed on the treadmill to 3 MPH, but I increased the incline by a tiny bit (I don't know if the measures are in degrees or units, but I changed it to 1.0). I went for 30 minutes this time, helped by the TV show Chopped (something on the Food Network). It's nothing impressive, but it is improvement. |

| Uglyface2 05/22/18 8:00:46 PM #1 | My department gave me a sizable gift card for my graduation, and the main thing I bought was a big shredder that's supposed to handle up to 80 sheets at a time. I have a lot of shredding to do. Anyway, there are two main parts to this shredder. First, there's a thin slot near the front, which you've probably seen on most shredders. The second part is a big slot in the back where you're supposed to put the big jobs. Looks like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/PEN-GEAR-80-Sheet-Micro-Cut-Auto-Feed-Shredder/618765498 I can't seem to get the back slot to work properly. I've noticed that it gets caught on something or other (I don't know the bits and parts of shredders), so unless I do stupid, dangerous things like stick my hand way down deep I can't get large jobs destroyed. I'd like to keep my hands. Does anyone have any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? |

If its to lose weight, fix your diet before anything. Diet is 80% of weight loss as they say, and for good reason. Exercise doesnt burn that many calories, so if you treat youreself or eat more because youre hungry from working out then youre probably regaining the calories and then some. Main goal is weight loss. Secondary is getting into some physical condition where I'm not easily winded from short runs. I've made some dietary changes already. I mostly drink water, which was a change from drinking diet soda. I've made an effort to incorporate more protein into my diet in order to curb cravings that would ordinarily lead to eating a candy bar or something equally bad for me (I mainly opt for pistachios at work). Work is a more controlled environment, so if I plan things in advance then I can do ok. Evenings and weekends have proven challenging, and I'm open to suggestions on how to avoid loading up. |

I'm fat and out of shape, but I bought a gym membership yesterday and just started doing a little bit. Background: I've been mostly sedentary for quite a while. I'm also diabetic, which means I should have been exercising for that reason alone. I've just finished my master's degree, and I figured with the extra time I'd finally do something about it. Enter a nearby 24 hour gym, $20 a month. Since I'm in pretty bad shape, I figured I'd start by doing some basic walking on treadmills. I did 20 minutes yesterday and worked my way up to 3 MPH, and I did another 20 minutes today at 3.2 MPH. Today was a little uncomfortable, so I figure I'll stay at that speed and just increase the length of my walks for the next little bit. |

He had a huge contest where you had to buy his cereal to get the phone numbers to get the answers to where he was being held captive, and there were commercials and a music video and everything. I don't remember what the prize was, but I loved Cap'n Crunch (and still eat his cereal, albeit rarely). |

I don't know if there's some strange laws there that make people do this, but in once case an attendant told me that I couldn't park in the large, empty upstairs lot and that I had to go through a narrow opening to a downstairs lot (ripped up the right side of my rental car trying to do that, thank God for insurance). The next garage I went to, half the garage was empty but the attendant told me to park between two large vehicles in a narrow parking space. Got lucky that time and managed to park ok. |

There was concern that the whole thing was off-putting to the women who were working there, so they stopped doing the whole scantily clad thing. They might still hire models, but they're far more modestly dressed. |

I turned in my last writing assignment, and unless something very strange happens then I've passed my final class. I fly out to Minnesota tomorrow with my parents in tow, and on Saturday I walk the stage for commencement for my master's degree. No, it's not an exciting degree (health information management), but it pertains to the work I do now and has already gotten some attention at work, where HR is keeping me apprised of potential offerings that would both pay more (I need to pay my student loans) and use the skills I've worked so hard to acquire. I'm very excited. |

Pooh's slow drift makes lining up anything difficult, and couple that with a left button that doesn't always register and an already notoriously difficult game becomes painful. The first one is due on Sunday, the second is due on the following Thursday. My cousin's wedding is on Saturday, and I've committed to attending that and the reception. I also work days. I'm leaving for commencement next Thursday; I've taken that Wednesday through Friday off. That gives me a couple of evenings and Sunday to do this first assignment, then another couple of evenings and all day Wednesday to do the second assignment. What do you all think? Do I expend some of my limited vacation time on this Friday so I can work on the first assignment, or should I stick to my original (well, backup, I wanted to be done today or tomorrow but this research is proving difficult) plan and just work through until Wednesday? |

The minute that happens they will be scouring wikipedia for the worst korean slurs to add to their hourly vocabulary. They won't even remember that they ever hated anyone with dark skin. The amount of rage the media machine will be able to generate from that will be generation defining. North Korea's leadership hasn't exactly engendered a lot of trust, and a lot of people including me wouldn't want to leave them an opening to attack South Korea with their still considerable conventional weaponry. Considering that the South has developed into a technological and manufacturing powerhouse, I wouldn't want to see that happen. The end result I'd like to see from this is North Korea eventually becoming a normalized state where the US no longer needs to maintain a presence to protect the South. That will likely take decades and be an incredibly painful process. |
