Which is obvious, if they were actually sad about it, they wouldve done something about it when it happened under the Obama administration as DE linked.

If that is what he meant to say, then he would have said "Democrats with their phony outrage over these stories.. etc".

But, for the sake of argument, let's say that he was trying to state Democrats concern is "fake". Is he (and you) stating that because a person didn't act in one situation, when they act in another similar situation they are "phony" and "fake"? Please clarify if this is the metric you are using, since what you claim as "obvious" doesn't seem to be shared by everybody.

At first I honestly though 'ugh, another flat-voiced youtube critic,' but while his points are arguable, his overall message of being afraid of sincerity is rather revelatory. It's also why the MCU is a reflection of the society to which it caters: an internet-heavy society where criticism and parody are the most valuable currencies. Sincerity makes us feel vulnerable - whether we're creating it or watching it - and vulnerability can be particularly dangerous when expressed online. On a personal level, I can't tell you how many lengthy posts I've typed out on message boards - everything from gaming opinions to politics - only to delete them before posting because I simply didn't want to deal with the headache of having to defend myself over them. I'm not trying to blame the internet for everything, but I think it does bear its share of the responsibility for the vicious cycle created when we spend our days critiquing, ranking and parodying to the point where big-budget media gets safer and safer and media that takes risks is pushed more to the margins.

I like to think they work but I don't want people to hold my hand all the time...It makes me feel like a burden to them.

I may be a bit biased since I'm in the field, but yes - especially if you find a therapist you feel comfortable talking to. More importantly, ALL therapists (at least ethical ones) are going to help you sustain the positive changes on your own, so don't worry about "having them hold your hand all the time" :)

To put it another way, therapists are going to work towards the point you can fire them :P

Virtually everyone here is overlooking the fact that this ruling was put in place during the Obama years. This administration was simply enforcing those rules until a better solution could be identified. Trump's detractors should give him the credit he deserves for addressing the matter.

Not exactly sure on specifics, but you're right, it wasn't a full blown zero tolerance yet.

IIRC, part of the reason for zero tolerance is there's such a backlog that it takes sometimes years before people are prosecuted and deported.

Sessions and Co (I think Stephen Miller was involved) decided to immediately prosecute to stop that trend and prioritize the ones in custody now and worry less about the ones who are already in who likely can't be found anyway

I don't think the intention was to clear it out.

I think they realized at this point it's better to have only some people wondering around our country for a given period of time (or indefinitely) versus almost everyone.

I wouldn't say that there is an equal amount in my experience, but enough that are vocal about it that it was a bit surprising. I'm also around a lot of Hispanic people and Mexican women tend to be VERY short. Like sometimes not even breaching 5'0" - to them 5'4" is an ideal height for a mate.

On the other side of the coin, I mostly hear very tall women only going after tall men. That makes sense to me.

Conversely, most of the shorter girls/women I know (under 5" 3") are keen on finding tall guys too.. like over 5' 10". Would you say 30 percent of the girls you know want short guys? Even if only two thirds are keen on taller guys, that still means more customers than product so to speak (as the average US height is 5' 9")

So violent crime is at 5.76 million. If you go by the part where you're needlessly flipping out about, then crime is at 5.58 million.

If you look, the number being celebrated for their 30 year low in crime is the 5.76 million figure, not the 5.58 million number.

I bought the first one before I had a computer that could play it. intending to get an upgrade quickly. it ended up taking 6 years, and in the process I lost my copy. I know I'll love it. But I can't convince myself to buy it twice, lol.

I've heard the sequel is not so great, though.

I've heard that too but would definitely recommend rebuying the first one - I see it (and the xpac) on Steam for 5 or 8 dollars sometimes!

I didn't think your question was worth acknowledging. Only people with drinking issues need to consider quitting. That doesn't apply to me and likely doesn't apply to the woman being discussed here.

But if you constantly make angry/racist/dangerous statements and decisions when drunk, maybe that does apply to you?

The real solution is having a circle of friends that don't provoke and record you while you're at your worst. Those are awful people.

I would have hoped that her employers would be understanding of her poor choice in friends, but I guess the vocal minority applied enough pressure to ruin this lady's life.

No. I was referring to this girl's friends. My friends wouldn't record my antics while drunk.

So in this girl's case, you believe it IS the the girl's fault for choosing friends that record her, but you DON'T believe it is her fault for choosing to drink in the first place?

With you own example of your own life - are you saying that when YOU drink, you make racist/ angry statements, but that ISN'T your fault? That your friends provoke you into doing so?
