Except the character clearly is meant to be an asian woman as per the source material not a white woman, they address this in the film too and its pretty offensive.

it's pretty offensive to dismiss entire groups of people as being hut dwelling, but even more so to somehow dismiss their worth, even if true.

I don't know if I anybody is flat out dismissing their worth, but it's certainly not as sexy as claiming ancient Egypt which is of the most fascinating and notable civilizations to ever exist
