$1 for a baguette
$7 for a lb of ribeye on special at Krogers.
$ 0.77 for an onion
$0.80 for a bell better

Top tier french dip, assuming you got some beef stock on hand. Less than $10 and the primary expense is in quality beef.

If you're willing to cut corners and buy bulk, obviously you could bring the price down a shit ton. But that's a sandwich about the same price, without having to wholesale the cost down and invest in multiple sandwiches.

This doesn't at all factor the biggest costs, time and effort in doing it yourself. It's the same reason why people have no problem being charged 15-20 buckaroos for shrimp pasta alfredo when Alfredo sauce is super easy to make.

Yeah, the time and effort of slicing bread in half and then stuffing it with whatever ingredients. What an effort that takes so much time!!! If anything it's more time and effort to go to subway since I go grocery shopping anyway, but I have to go to subway just for a sandwich. Plus with the ingredients I have, I can make a sandwich whenever I want at home.

Where do you people live? A 12" sub for $8.25 is an amazing deal.

What a shit deal. It's not even hard to make a sandwich. Just go to the grocery store, get a pound of meat, cheese, some veggies, and bread for less money, and throw that together.

You're right, restaurants in general should cease to exist because everyone has a kitchen.

I almost never eat fast food and I restrict eating out to social events, so that works for me. However, in this case, any idiot could make a sandwich in 5 minutes or less. The only "cooking" they're doing is toasting the bread if you want it toasted.

lol @ the people sticking up for her. I'll never understand people who try to rationalize others who makes tons of money doing easy jobs, even going to the lengths of attacking others for criticizing the job.

Reminds me of the people who admire twitch streamers with, "good for him/her! I wish I could get paid that much money doing something I love".

Then if you point out how ridiculous it is for someone to get paid millions to play video games, they get super angry and reply with, "what they're doing is super hard work! They're talented!!"

Yeah, that meme was already posted.

The situations aren't even comparable.

You're right. Flint doesn't have terrorists being funneled into it and supported by a number of hostile enemies. Assad may be brutal, but he has to be, given the people he has to deal with. It's like when people are shocked by the violence in the drug trade. It escalates because you're either brutal or the brutalized.

More and more it seems apparent that conservatism is a mental disorder. Seriously, what's with the frothing at the mouth and wanting to privatize everything even when it's been seen again and again that doing so most likely raises prices and reduces service. How stupid does one have to be to not heed the repeated failures?

Harm through incompetence is not the same as spreading fatal gas to kill people not caring about civilian deaths or how you can't really control gas in open air air.

Except they switched the water supply to "save money" without a care for safety. It goes beyond incompetence and becomes gross negligence. Had it been their own water supply that they had to drink from, they wouldn't have switched it.

lol k.

If the evidence is impossible to produce, how do you expect to deliver justice? Were you also shrieking of conspiracy theories when people spoke out against the war in Iraq? You show a stunning level of ignorance on this topic, so I'm not surprised what you pulled from my post was "conspiracy thinking" and "fuck Israel". Educate yourself and think before posting next time. Maybe then you can act as more than just the mouthpiece of war hawks.

The USSR's problem was central planning. A bunch of managers thinking they knew what was best and many workers just gaming the numbers to make themselves look good while doing as little work as possible. You see this shit happen in disfunctional corporations all the time. The difference is that the USSR was just one giant disfunctional corporation.

Central planning isn't required in a communist system. Is a truly communist society practical? Maybe not, but neither is a totally free market like libertarians advocate, otherwise you get shit like the gilded age or worse since even then there was more government protection than libertarian purists would've liked. Capitalism in the United States truly shined when socialist elements were introduced.

Now show the comic strip for the workers on minimum wage who can't afford anything and can barely survive. This is one reason why I support UBI. You can then eliminate the minimum wage because you don't need that wage just to survive. Then employers can stfu about minimum wage and workers can choose work based on factors other than just needing to survive, thus making the labor market more free. Free market advocates should be supporting UBI. Too bad most "free market" advocates are just shills for corporations and only want a free market for the rich.

Is there actually proof that Assad actually gassed his citizens yet, or is just random hearsay from the people doing the bombings still?

Basically all intelligence communities, humanitarian groups, chemical weapons watchdogs, etc etc etc all have consensus that Assad was using them. The answer is yes.
Unless you're taking the solipsistic ie dishonest approach in which case nothing short of video evidence of Assad ordering chem attacks will suffice.

Speaking of dishonesty, there are a number of "humanitarian" groups who have a goal of getting the US to take down Assad, so I wouldn't exactly trust them. In regards to evidence, the thinking is that if sarin gas was used that it must have been Assad, but that's not necessarily true. For one, the timing of the attacks is just too convenient and it could've been done to pin the blame on Assad to receive support in fighting against him. By the way, it's hilarious how an air strike was carried out by what is presumably Israel, but this goes without scrutiny. Another country can just carry out an act of war like that without any confirmation and no one is talking about it?

Less than $20. I've been using them since last year. I was going to use TurboTax, but found out I'd have to pay more to submit the relevant form for investments through them. Fuck that. This site is already cheaper at the standard rate. I got lots of money back this year, but that's mainly because of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. This is a pain in the software development world, especially if you do web development, because every jackass has his own perfect vision of the world and wants to reinvent the wheel, so you get a billion frameworks/languages/tools with tons of overlap. Of course employers demand that you know them so that they're using "the new stuff". Don't want to be left behind and get stuck using stable, well-tested, efficient technologies of old.
