Not an ally. Not a major trading partner. Not a strategic military asset. I don't support Assad but I sure as fuck don't support rebels that are probably indistinguishable from ISIS. Other than fucking with Russian's interests (which is a noble enough goal, fuck you Russia) why the hell are we there? Helping victims of war crimes? There are about a million other opportunities that don't involve destabilizing a region. I'm sure Kony is still around. Speaking of dishonesty, there are a number of "humanitarian" groups who have a goal of getting the US to take down Assad, so I wouldn't exactly trust them. In regards to evidence, the thinking is that if sarin gas was used that it must have been Assad, but that's not necessarily true. For one, the timing of the attacks is just too convenient and it could've been done to pin the blame on Assad to receive support in fighting against him. By the way, it's hilarious how an air strike was carried out by what is presumably Israel, but this goes without scrutiny.
