It's actually better to go to college later in life tbh

You have a better idea what you want in life (not just going to college because you're supposed to) and eventually you become an "independent student" and financial aid is 100% about your income.

Every year you put it off, you're putting off another year of increased earnings and delaying your career progression.

Go through the tour of Go: https://tour.golang.org/welcome/1

It'll take a very short time. It's a small and simple language but very effective and well-designed. Plus, if you're doing C next, Go is basically C but with conveniences like a garbage collector, interfaces, reflection, etc.

Because Americans pretend to value work, but what they really value is money. However, because they have to rationalize why some people are obscenely rich, they assume that it must've taken tons of hard work and intelligence (with no luck involved), therefore the assumption is that people who haven't gotten rich must be lazy and/or stupid. Also, the "customer is always right" attitude factors into this for the service industry. I'm sure tipping also plays a role in that it gives people a god complex in that they decide a significant portion of the worker's pay.

I didn't bother looking for work until after I finished, but I was still able to find work within a month of graduating. It was a web development position which is funny since I didn't do any web development at all. As a junior developer, you'll be able to catch up and figure things out. School doesn't generally teach you exactly what you need for your job, but it teaches you how to pick up and learn what you need.

See I'm Canadian and I'd disagree entirely.

It's the Canadian border patrol that are always the dicks in my experience.

That's odd. I have dual citizenship, so I don't think it's the citizenship that is the issue here. It could depend on the border crossing.

Because you earn way more with a post-secondary education than with just a high school education. As for debt, go to a cheaper school. I paid off all my student loans within a year of graduating. Another tip is to live with your parents while going to school. Go to school to learn, not to attend adult daycare (a.k.a. "the college experience").

How did you get it free?

Our big telecom companies offer deals where if you sign a 2 year plan, you get a free phone. I simply wait until one I want goes on sale, then I lock myself into a 2 year plan with them.

That's not free. The plan itself subsidizes the phone.

No, $150 is about the limit, maybe $200 if I really want the phone. My current phone was about $130 and it has lasted me three years so far. I'm thinking of replacing it maybe next year. Before that I used a cheaper phone for three years and before that a flip phone for four years.

Yes, the internet is a product of socialism. Not only that, but large components are thanks to socialism. Linux runs on most web servers. Huge swathes of software that make this all possible are free and open source. As usual, capitalists swooped in to exploit and take all the credit.

We work to live, not the other way around. While I appreciate him highlighting that there are important jobs to be done, if you derive self-worth solely from your job then you're doing it wrong. If we want to promote such jobs, we should be paying them more, but instead society glorifies bankers and executives.

It may seem backwards, but implementing UBI would actually help with this problem. Then if such jobs are paid too poorly, people can refuse to work them until the pay actually reaches the rate that people would be willing to do them at. This would be the true free market approach, but unfortunately when the term "free market" is slung around, it's only to the benefit of the elites to use it to exploit people.

The customer for not tipping equally.

Why would the customer tip for poor service? Is it the waiters expectation that the customer should tip them after their poor dining experience, and then for some reason if they come back they'll remember them and provide them proper service the 2nd time around?

The tipping system has gotten so shit, you're expected to tip 20% at a minimum, even with shitty service because maybe the server is busy or having a bad day or whatever other excuse.

I don't remember, are you doing software development work? Even with cost of living, you should be making more. I had to jump ship multiple times early in my career in order to achieve the salary I have now, then I aggressively pursue raises at my current company, though I could very well jump ship again. It's good to interview at other places just in case, even if just to keep your resume and interviewing skills polished. The best time to interview for a job is when you already have a job, then you have less pressure to accept their off and can maximize your demands or feel free to leave without any problems.

Americans must smell really bad if they can't skip a single day without smelling like hot garbage. Must be the dog shit that they eat and their high average weight. It generally gets bad for me at three days so I rarely go that long without a shower. I do everyday most of the time and skip a day if it's cold, I haven't been sweating, and I'm lazy.
