Insofar as any stars at all exist.

The reality is that most decks are just old decks without anything (or very little) from the new expansion. Baku and Genn tend to be the primary exceptions. Less than 10% of this expansion sees any real play at all. I'm starting to wonder if Blizzard could have just printed those two cards and initiated rotation, and it wouldn't have had the same effect as the meta we have now.

You would think I'd like all the main contest songs today, but I really don't. Neither Id nor FC appeal to me, and Glass is simply terrible. It's predictable, and has an unappealing sound design. I liked Banbard far better -- it was more interesting and it actually took advantage of the samples mozell uses in a way Glass never does. Meanwhile, Cloudscapes is awesome.

Oh, and looks like I'm voting for the un-youtube song. I feel bad that I want it to lose for that reason alone. It's not a fantastic piece, but it easily beats anything that has ever appeared in a Binding of Isaac game.

I really only remember hunter being a thing. Hunter was easily the ideal class for it since the hero power, quick shot, kill command, and Always Huffer (tm) made for easy burst if your opponent ever turned the corner.

I was usually more bothered by Dr. Boom, though. Dr. Boom was the capstone that just said if you weren't massively ahead, you just lost. It was like Mysterious Challenger that way. All too common for an opponent to play Sylvannas on 6, Dr. 7, and then Rag on 8.

However, this might have had something to do with Boom being a legendary, and therefore I didn't have it. I was also far more furious about cards that I got beaten by that I didn't own. For a long time, I didn't have a single copy of Equality, and I would fume over Pyromancer and Consecrate clears that I thought were absurd and broken and unfair and and and...

running Kathrena is the first time I've ever experienced this feeling where you lose the game because you draw a specific card from your deck when it's the only card you can't draw.

This happens to me all the time with any card that references the deck. Spiteful Summoner, Possessed Lackey, etc. It's not usually that you lose the game on the spot because of it, but I've certainly had it happen.

This is, of course, ignoring obscure situations where every card is an out but the one you get.

I kind of wish I could go back and relive that meta briefly. I remember Undertaker being powerful, but I was still learning the game then, and Undertaker never felt like the worst offender to me. Or even really much of an offender at all. It basically did what Hyena did, but not as well because there was no Unleash the Leper Gnomes card.

This day was...wow.

Rivellon actually held in the match, bringing the match to within two reasonably late, and continuing to punch back. Ordinarily, this would be the most impressive fight from the losing party in the day. Today it makes Rivellon the lowest on the x-stats.

AcAm and Zenith went toe to toe the entire day. It's hardly surprising this match ended in a tie. Many people said how they'd be okay with either song advancing, and sure enough...we'll get to decide again. Surprisingly few ties this contest, so we were kinda overdue.

But then we have the side bracket match. Geez, oh man. Nico's Theme opened up to a 10-0 lead. Game over, right? But Simon kept pecking away, and while Nico's support mostly sputtered, Simon put together a 10-2 run of his own. Initially I thought this match had also ended in a tie until I recounted, and I was completely dumbfounded that a song could squander a 10-0 lead. Almost.

The part where you use a plural verb for a singular entity. There are a few times where I can see it being ambiguous...

"This pack of pencils need sharpening."
"The flock fly south for the winter."

It sounds wrong to me, and by regional standards, is wrong, but at least it's defensible. Pack and flock are words that clearly contain smaller parts, and it's the parts we're referencing. We sharpen the pencils, not the pack. The flock can't fly south without the individual birds flying south.

But in the case of "U2 suck," that doesn't make any sense because you aren't specifically saying Bono and The Edge are bad. That might also be true, but it's not the message. You're saying the unit of the four musicians together -- and the music they produce -- is bad. U2, the brand, is singular. Would you do the same thing if there were a band named after its frontman? Ozzy Osbourne suck?

From FFDragon, last topic: T2 Swarmer + T3 Swarmer/Grave Mistake worked wonders actually.

I had no idea what Grave Mistake was. Looked it up, and yeah, I've yet to encounter the guy you'd get that from. That's with four 7-1 runs and one 8-0. Maybe he's more common than that, but not a strategy I'd want to depend on. Especially with it as a one-of.

From ColZach: I think shes likely the easiest, but people have said cannon man is easy and he seems tough to me. Same with dog boy.

I beat Shaw second try (after a dumb mistake on the first try), and it wasn't even competitive. Just nuked my enemies with 5/1 rush dogs and used Butch for a finisher when necessary.

Both main matches started off with the higher seed taking a lead, then the other song tying the match at about 13-13, and then the top seed going on another run to close out the match.

Incidentally, Fairyland Beginning is the first sub-8-seed track to survive round 2. (It's a 10.) The remaining songs that could follow in its footsteps are Glass, End of All, 'Foundation' and Dialga Battle. Considering two of those were heavily underseeded, I doubt sexy fairies will be alone.

What exactly is your issue with adding 2 seconds per action? It just makes sure that as long as you're doing something, you can play out your turn.

I never meant there would be a turn that legitimately takes over 75 seconds to carry out. I just mean, sometimes turns get really complicated, and it's annoying that even once you decide exactly what your course of action is, and you commit to it, you can't complete it because it takes too long.

I'm not vehemently opposed. But I definitely could see griefing scenarios. You've obviously never seen any of HysteriA's videos. Some of his recent ones with Azalina are ridiculous.

Maybe it's a sign that I'm not thinking through my moves as much as I need to, but hitting the rope is rarely an issue. Even on tough turns, when it starts burning, that's my signal to commit to something and get going. Unless you have some kind of massive defile clear and need to queue up things after, you can usually do everything in 20 seconds.

I think once the rope starts, every action you take (playing a card, hero power, or attacking with a minion) should add 2 seconds to your timer.

It's so annoying that you get punished in terms of time limit if your turn involves a lot of actions.

When you rope, it's usually because you took too long deciding on a course of action. If you legitimately had a turn where you were taking actions for the entire 75 seconds, either you have a combo that needed to be reined in or there's some animations that need to be sped up.

That's certainly one interpretation. And one I expected I would agree with beforehand. However, I think the execution was actually reasonably decent. Assuming, of course, that you don't dislike the style of MCU movies in the first place.
