Ah, I missed that. So it is on Steam after all. Even with that release, the option "Yes, I first played the iOS / Android / PC version" is still the least popular option with only 3.82%. It seems like a proper re-release on a console may be the only way to boost FFV's playrate.

According to GameFAQs, the Anthology version is not on PSN. No known version of FFV is available on a modern day console (PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, or Switch).

I can't see the contest starting out with 3 saves per hour. With 807 Pokemon and an estimate of 35 participants, having only 3 saves per hour means only 420 Pokemon would be saved after 4 hours and the round would last about 8 hours. This does not even factor in that not everyone will make their first saves during the first hour of the first round, so the actual number of Pokemon saved after 4 hours will probably be less than 420.

We'll probably need 5 or 6 saves per hour to start out the contest. A pre-contest discussion topic could be made to get estimates of early participant numbers, in addition to allowing people to discuss their plans on what Pokemon they will be saving with their first saves. The first few rounds could be chaotic with some saves going towards Pokemon that have already been saved. At least my first set of saves will consist of Pokemon that are unlikely to have a conflict with another user's first set of saves.

That's good, the previous contest being 7 months long was a serious ordeal for anyone to survive. If you're aiming to run this over the course of 4 months, I'm guessing there will be some occasional off-days that are balanced out by some days featuring a double round.

I assume your schedule doesn't include any details regarding saves per hour, since that's something which should be adjusted based on how long the rounds last for (aiming for each round to be completed in 3 to 6 hours). The number of regular participants is also a determining factor in how many saves each person should be allowed to make per hour.

Nah, I don't want rounds happening 24 hours a day. That might work out just fine for smaller contests where you don't expect people to take them seriously, but not for the huge ones like Disney, Final Fantasy, or Pokemon. It would just make things worse for the huge contests.

Sometime in 2018 sounds good to me. I'm glad that you didn't do it earlier this year since Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon actually introduced new Pokemon in the middle of a generation, which goes against established tradition to not introduce new Pokemon (by Pokedex number) in the middle of a generation. Sure, we only got 5 new Pokemon in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, but it's still considered new Pokemon.

They wanted to put Poipole on the team, but failed to pull it off. Just before getting Poipole, they managed to change the options to "Manual" where they can choose what to do with a Pokemon they receive/capture when the party is full. So when they got Poipole, they came really close to sending Primarina to the box so Poipole could go in the party. However, Poipole ended up getting sent to the box. After this happened, they were able to change the option back to "Automatic" again.

I haven't played the game that much since its release. I only have about 6 hours of actual playrate in the game and just recently got to the second island. Nearly 6 hours to reach the second island was partly because I spent time catching some Pokemon, including time spent trying to hunt for Pikachu through SOS Battles.

They did it, Brionne ended up evolving at level 35 after the failed attempt at level 34. The level-up happened during a trainer battle, which meant there was a lot of A spam going on. By the time the first B input was made, it was too late into the evolution process to stop the evolution. They also succeeded in teaching it Sparkling Aria.

Today's round is very stacked, with the first appearance of Rockruff and Lycanroc, along with Ribombee. So I probably expect Primarina to go out after surviving for the first 3 rounds.

Depending on what the results look like later on, I might vote for Ribombee just so I have something to support after Primarina goes out.

The evolution was stopped almost instantly, as people started spamming B's when they saw the level-up on the stream. As a result of the stream latency, this means the flood of B's happened around when the evolution would have started.

Brionne is very close to reaching level 34 which is when it will evolve. It will be interesting to see how much effort TPP puts into preventing Brionne's evolution from happening.

Normally, I could use that as an actual playrate poll, but the last option really screws up the entire poll. The last option contains 3 separate groups of voters:

1. Those who play Pokemon Go, but don't drive a car.

2. Those who don't play Pokemon Go, but do drive a car.

3. Those who don't play Pokemon Go and also don't drive a car.

Because of this, it's impossible to determine what percentage of those voters have played Pokemon Go. And then there's the third option, which may include some Pokemon Go players, although it says nothing about whether or not you've played it. Only the first, second, and fourth options actually state you've played Pokemon Go.

As a result of this poll's issues, I can't treat this as a valid playrate poll as it's not possible to draw any conclusions about the game's playrate through the current set of options.

Well, I don't consider myself a slave to any specific type.

Your decision to always choose the Fire starter is similar to the user Whiskey_Nick who always chooses the Water starter. Except for this generation when Whiskey_Nick couldn't bring himself to choose Popplio because he was so disgusted by its final evolution (Whiskey_Nick hates two things - Fairy type and feminine looking Pokemon). This is expected to be a one-off exception for Whiskey_Nick, as he'll go back to picking Water type starters in the future.

I would not rule out the possibility that Game Freak creates a Fire starter that you hate so much that you just can't pick it.

I've now made it to the Battle Tree. So I pretty much just have a large stack of side quests to finish up on. Overall I thought the game was a nice upgrade over SM.

After the playthrough of Pokemon Sun one year ago, Twitch Plays Pokemon will be doing a playthrough of Ultra Sun. I forgot to make a topic before the run started, so I missed the first few hours of the run. However, there is a video showing the first 2 hours of the TPP Ultra Sun playthrough:



TPP ended up choosing Popplio as the starter, so it'll be interesting to see if they either release or permanently box it. Currently, they are still on the first island.
