Sins and Gods was clearly my #5 track, and I had to think about which song to use. I considered Fight for Divinity instead. I just like the main theme enough to be drawn to a reprisal of it.

And nah, not if it's just the one time. I just didn't want to rank my whole nomination. Besides, there's 111 and 112 to go through first.

I think you've got at least a day before we have to worry about that. Even then, I fully expect to be waiting on somebody to finish their last set. As long as you're conscientious about it, I don't care.

KCF and NFUN stuff

I wouldn't wait for anybody new to show up. Yes, if I get a walk-on, they're going with you guys, but the only person we've had come in after the first day was SaveEstelle, who I put on my rotation, which was in a similar position...other than that I've already done 6 blocks and don't know how many I should do personally.

I'm assuming since KCF wanted to avoid 310 that he'll do 11 and NFUN gets 10.

I personally believe in keeping your old cards rather than dusting them, but I respect the decision to play only standard if that's your choice.

Regarding wild, I don't see a whole lot from year 1 there that sees play. There are so many cards and decks now that not having GvG/TGT isn't really that much of a hindrance unless you feel like you really have to be able to play mech mage or secret paladin. Life really does go on without Dr. Boom. There's a few toy cards in there that might be helpful, like Justicar Trueheart, but you won't be ineffective just because you missed that time period. I think you'd be hurting more on missing naxx than anything else, tbh. If you dusted your year 2 cards, though, then I guess it's pretty much a done deal.

If you are going the route of buying Naxx in order to dust it, I think I'd still feel better buying packs. As pure dust, you probably don't come out behind, and you have the chance to pull cards you want, which means you save 3/4 of the cost on those. I will concede HeroDelTiempo's point, though, which is that epics and legendaries are more noteworthy in decklists than they once were. There isn't a substitute for a 0 mana 5/5 that might come down on turn 3, or for a 3/9 taunt that summons three smaller taunts on death. To say nothing of the death knights, obv.

It looks like azuarc has a block (#105) labelled in the Google Doc for you. Not sure if he ever posted it in the topic though.

If you haven't looked at the Google Doc yet, you can find the block by going to the Rotation 1 tab and scrolling down to the 5th block of 5 songs.

I did (although saying so was incredibly oblique). I'm also prepared to bang out whatever's left in 1 if we hit the point where it's the last rotation to finish, which it could be, but I'll hold back for now to let you and simoun do however much you're going to do.

@DragonImps I remember you saying you were going to cool your jets because you had done 5, but are you including 412 in that? Because I only see 4 from you in the spreadsheet.

This column might seem just an artifact of an old mistake, but I discovered a use for it: a tiebreaker. Whenever multiple songs shared the same score, whichever ones weren't NOMINATION'D were automatically ranked lowest. And it just so happens that two of the top five songs have this trait...

It happens. The alternative would be to rank larger blocks, but that sometimes scares people off or makes it really hard to differentiate. If you think that would be better, I'll consider that for if/when I ever do this again. Certainly won't be any time soon, though, since VGMC is on the horizon.

This pack contained five songs of mostly equal quality. Strange Sunset stood out because it wasn't ambient background stuff, and Paradigm gets the short end of the stick, but these tracks were somewhat interchangeable. Got in late, so I'll address the rest of the thread some time tomorrow. (Jeff, do whatever's the first thing available in rotation 1.) However, I'd like to address this just to explain. The problem with picking the blocks you want to do is that you'll seek out the tracks that you know, which will inevitably lead to confirmation bias. Sure, you might end up with that block anyway, and if you do, then it's not a problem, but unless you're going to do the entire list of 75, and therefore do all 15 blocks yourself eventually anyway, it really isn't wise to do anything other than play the hand you're dealt.

Ironically, it's precisely the reason why I passed over a couple blocks. The numbers in each list aren't random. They're done by going down the master list, assigning positions in each rotation by counting by the same number throughout. However, the issue with rotation 1 is that the number I'm counting by there leads to successive blocks essentially repeating the same games. I was simply getting too many repeats, and they were of my own nomination. I gave two of those tracks a +5 and very well might have done the same for the other three if I didn't make an effort to dodge them. I don't believe that should be an issue for the other rotations, although if you do feel you're getting too much game repetition, I'll understand if you call a balk.

What is the average value of dust?

I don't know if there's an actual metric on this, but if you figure 100 gold is a pack, which frequently has just 40 dust, but can sometimes have a chunk of 100, 400, or even 1600 if you're aggressive in your disenchanting, I've assumed the net average is somewhere around a hundred, and therefore dust = gold.

The doc says it should be the Arilou Theme from Star Control II, but the link takes me to what is evidently the Spathi Theme instead.
