This latest North Korea thing really just illustrates how weird their existence in modern politics really is - they threaten war against everyone constantly and even promised to nuke Trump's inauguration, but everyone just ignores it until Trump says something dumb (but not as dumb as what they say) and their response is something we have to care about. We've developed a really weird situation with them over the years.

It really is something the rest of the world should come together on and deal with as peacefully as possible.

Doesn't everyone around the globe acknowledge the plight of NK's citizens forced to live under Kim's rule?

Which now has led to North Korea deciding that he has declared war on them for Tweeting the threat that their government officials "won't be around much longer." They are saying that now they are within their rights to shoot down our planes in their region.

Okay, so

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys make a somewhat nuanced statement by linking arms and kneeling in solidarity and protest BEFORE the Anthem, but then stand, still arm in arm, for the Anthem itself

And people still hate them for it.

How is it disrespecting the Anthem when you stand for it still?

It's actually kind of a neat litmus test/bluff call. Are people really upset because of the flag, or are they upset at the protests in general and using the flag as a cover.

I worked 26 hours through Saturday and Sunday and didn't know any of this was going on until someone asked me at work what I thought about the protests in the NFL and I was like "huh?"

Then I got on facebook and saw literally EVERYONE ON THE PLANET giving their opinions on it and just kept on feeling like all of it was stupid. What's ESPECIALLY stupid is the president of a country picking a fight with an entire sports league.

Yeah, that sounds like a bad rule to me. I'm definitely not convinced you can't line up and snap in 8, 9, 10 seconds, or whatever they should have had left when everyone is within a couple of yards of the line of scrimmage.

If there's going to be a mandatory run-off, it should be less than that, though I guess you could make it way more complicated, based on how far the furthest player is from the line of scrimmage or something, but that's maybe going too far the other way. Not sure what the best way to handle that situation is rules-wise.

Maybe they should review who on offense was farthest from the line of scrimmage at the time it was stopped, and time how long it takes for him to run back to the line and get set, and run that much off <_<
