Because cats are the ultimate lazy person's pet. Don't have to walk them, train them, or bath them. You don't have to worry about your yard being a shit landmine field. Plus, if they snap, they can fuck you up but can't really kill you like a bigger dog.

Really the only advantage to having a dog is robber protection, they are good at scarring away criminal scum if they have the size and bark.

I don't understand the "shitty owner" argument. There are shitty owners of every dog breed, doesn't change the fact the vast majority of fatal or critical bites on humans are from Pits. Even with some breeds misidentified as Pits it's still a staggering statistic. But people continue to defend those living time bombs, whatever. Don't come crying to me when your "raised right" Pit snaps for no good reason and goes on a family murder spree.

Actually the only reason fax is still used by insurance and doctors is because, sadly, it's still the most secure way of getting patient info around. It's far more secure than email, or more specifically SMTP. If it weren't for those two industries faxing would be long dead.

Since nothing has happened I'm giving advice, not victim blaming. There isn't a victim to blame yet.

That said I wouldn't do it as unfortunately that would probably increase the odds of a mugging. It's a sad state of affairs but we must be proactive against the scum of the earth.
