The good news is that it's free (there's a DLC pack for an additional ten bucks but it doesn't seem to contain anything essential). The bad news is that I'm not sure about anything else. Anyone here played this? Should I actually give this a shot or not? --- |

I probably watched more movies last year than maybe the previous decade combined, thanks to tearing through the MCU (and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies), watching all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and the Star Wars movies (I still need to watch 2, 3, and RO though). I'm not sure I've watched a TV series that started airing in the last 15 years either (anime aside). the irony of the fact that I'm watching through old episodes of Frasier as I type this is not lost on me (especially since Frasier was just the absolute best at irony of all kinds) --- |

| LeonhartFour 01/04/18 12:32:05 AM #156 | Anyway, in Fate.....stay night, In this iteration, nobody knows who Gilgamesh really is, even Saber. He's just obsessed with making her his own. Shiro goes to see Kirei (who hasn't shown up at all since the early episode where he explains the Grail Wars) to figure out what the deal with Gilgamesh is. Kirei feigns surprise and promises to look into it. He says the winning Servant of the Grail War can drink from it and gain a new life in this world, and he tells Shiro he could save up a Command Seal to force Saber to drink from it and keep her here if that's what he really wants. It'll be interesting to see what he does about that since I assume Saber's going to win! Then Saber tells Shiro the truth of the previous Grail War, about how Kiritsugu was her former Master, and her wish to go back to her own time to correct her mistakes. The next day, Rin asks Shiro what his plan is, and he replies that it's to take Saber out on a date. The sheer absurdity of that statement causes me to burst out laughing, and then Rin bursts out laughing, too. We were totally on the same page right there! Illya tries to get in on the dating action but is cruelly cut down. Anyway, their date was a nice slice of life breather episode...until Shiro tries to rake Saber over the coals about wanting to correct the mistakes of the past in an attempt to convince her to stay in the present, and she rightly calls him out on his hypocrisy. Yeah, I'm not really buying this pairing. It doesn't work for me. Shiro/Rin was really good because they're polar opposites in some ways and similar in others, but I think Shiro/Saber are a little too much alike, especially in the stubbornness department. I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer for the true OTP! Anyway, the episode ends with Gilgamesh coming in to claim what is his. --- |

He'd be a fascinating completely new type of character for the series as a different person, and the fact that it's set seven years later gives you an excuse to leave everything from the OT behind (except the Judge, I guess). Phoenix is simultaneously AJ's greatest asset and greatest hindrance, which is a strange dichotomy. --- |

I rarely speed through text unless I've just game overed and I'm trying to catch back up or I've initiated the same conversation a second time. An annoying thing in SoJ is that using the stylus to advance text usually results in just bringing up the entire next text box entirely, unless it's switching who's speaking. I actually like the beeps and the boops and the artificial feeling of the "flow" of a conversation, so I have to just use the buttons to advance text whenever I play SoJ! --- |

I actually like SMRPG and Paper Mario Peach a lot, and the SMB cartoon version is kinda cool, too, but she's not that great in the mainline games (although she had a few good moments in Odyssey) and oddly enough, in the M&L games, where she's just a damsel in distress and nothing more. Rin says she is willing to kill Sakura to prevent her from becoming the Grail's vessel because, as she puts it, a magus's primary duty is to protect the purity of the soul, not the physical body, but she can't bring herself to go through with it, it seems. Also, the next episode preview seems to indicate that Gilgamesh will finally make an appearance, so hype! --- |
