The problem is that what I was really asking was "Would mass killings of other means decrease if guns were banned?"

I do already agree that more guns means more death by guns. That's common sense.

My issue is with firearms designed for the battlefield. I see no discernible reason for them to be widely available to civilians

So you don't see much value in them being useful against a tyrannical government, then?

To commit violence with a bomb, yes you need to have the technical know-how to make a bomb. You need to buy whatever supplies or whatever, and you have to do all of this in the knowledge that bomb-manufacturing is illegal.

To commit violence with a gun, you need to go to a Walmart and buy a rifle and some bullets. Maybe go to a gun store and wait a couple days to legally purchase your weapon.

I think an important part of this is violence as a function of the amount of people killed too. The bare minimum gun (non automatic pistol or rifle) probably can't do as much as a bomb. Ironically 55 guns don't seem like they can do as much damage as 55 bombs on account of needing an individual to operate each gun. Did that one shooter really go through all of it?

The logic I'm seeing used is "well it's possible to kill people with other stuff than guns, so why target guns?" Maybe because revising gun laws would make things better? Progress should not be opposed just because it doesn't immediately solve all problems.

This obviously presupposes that mass shootings are the only consequence of a society with guns. Or that the existence of guns isn't actively promoting peace where it exists (as many conservatives would point out). Do you just go "bah humbug" to these claims or do you have good reason to believe they are mistaken. Convince me!

I see a lot of confidence but not a lot of source citing.

I can tell you I'm not confident that guns aren't the easiest or most common, but I'd like something more than just strong language.

Gun violence is FAR more common and easy to commit than bomb violence in this country.

How would you say it's easier exactly? Because the technical know how isn't as readily available?

Or like, gun control is a way bigger issue than the problem of school shootings.

To even utter it just because you see a scary news headline is...hasty.

About as disingenous as bringing up domestic terrorism when the right calls for action against Islamic terrorism.

To both I say, let's not sensationalize a particular aspect just because it's "common" (even though terrorist strikes and mass shootings are rather uh, rare)

The spirit of Trump's argument doesn't seem that wrong to me. People who desire to commit mass murder will do it either way. I get that killing people with 55 forks is a lot harder, but like bombs and trucks are used as murder devices all the time too.

The Bowser fights toward the end are particularly amusing, as you basically just need to eat a hit and then sprint past him to the axe in order to win.

That's why you play without powerups!

If you think that's cheap abuse the hell out of all tanuki/cape powerups that modify your descending speed. They destroy platformers.

The whole point is you could take out all the characters and replace them with any other characters and the plot of the game wouldn't suffer. Theyre like chrono cross characters.

You're going to have to really defend this point with clear examples. The VIII characters are among the most designed.

I can't deal with how much misinformation plagues this game.

For me it would just be "explain your mechanics better." Half of these responses are because the game doesn't teach you how to actually play the game.

10-4 good buddy

I think that brings up a good point: I believe that we can mutually discuss objective issues and points of praise in these things. But it also doesn't mean we have to come to the same conclusions. I think when opinions disagree, it's more how much we stress certain aspects over others, rather than outright disagree about the content.

I have more issues with FFXV's gameplay other than being too easy. I don't like the overall system being this weird mushy business of holding down buttons to perform auto-actions. Quests being things that you only get from like 6 people that you need to advance one at a time is baaaaad, on top of the content usually being simple fetch quests too. Dungeon design was mostly boring dark caves (and pretty much all optional ones were like this). Should have been more open environment dungeons like the mountain place and wooded areas. Should have been a Hard mode that could toggle off the ability to use items after you died. I have lots of reasons the game didn't come together for me, on top of some big central issues.

It did some things really well that I appreciate it for, and I'll have to check it out after all these patches. But I can't imagine really being into it the way I was for even my recent FFVI playthrough, and that's not one of my favorites at all.

I did think a lot of Luke's point of view early game could have been preserved. He was making some decent points even though the game was trying to convince you that he was wrong every step of the way.

Still, I think it's cool that even after his Haircut Development, it turned out he needed to reclaim some of his individual pride and he has a second defining epiphany at the tail end for it.

Yeah yeah my definition of intense boss fights came with some unwritten assumptions. I'm not always a fan of the logic that interactivity in games is what should be stressed the most just because it's what makes it unique, but in large swathes I agree with it.

FFXV was not the kind of avant garde story telling that could afford to skimp on the gameplay for its plot, whereas I can give Nier a pass a lot more easily.

The anime finished before the manga and had the same ending.

My research indicates to me that the last chapter of the manga (06/12/10) came out about a month before the last episode of the Brotherhood anime (07/04/10).

Still, I didn't expect it to be that close. That explains their motivation for ruining what should have been the definitive version of the anime though! They wanted to meet a date for the sake of cross-media hype rather than give it the amount of episodes it needed to do the entire story justice.
