It seems weird to have the only Mario Kart on a system be a port Premise: I don't see the Switch being supported for more than 5 years. MK8 being out now and selling so well is evident that this is THE mario kart for lots of switch owners. They don't need a new one because this is the new one. When the Switch is on its Wii inspired death throes in three years, they're not going to think of developing anything seriously on it anymore, unless it's to port it to the successor in the Twilight Princess model. If my premise is wrong than it's up in the air. --- |

I have serious doubts about this, and waiting longer for a Smash 4 port is both how they keep the legs of Switch moving, and how they can extend the life of Smash 4 for a longer amount of time. Like there's not going to be a Mario Kart 9 [for switch], why would anyone expect a Smash 5 for switch? --- |
