Theyre also impractical from a military standpoint. They arent precise and basically never an option. They exist as a last resort to intimidate others, but, as you said, we have enough. This will eat into the militarys budget and direct attention away from things they actually care about

They were trying to see if they could pull off what Letron_James claimed by trying to reply to a topic while it was in the process of being created by the system thinking that the creation of the OP is slightly delayed compared to the creation of the actual topic. They tried to accomplish this by using a trick of pre-filling the internal fields used by the site to post replies which includes guessing the topic number before it's created. They only managed to make a STP reply in the end which was still a major accomplishment in itself (this was years before dead topics were archived rather than deleted, so you'll have to take my word for it).

All "Made in China" does for outsourced manufacturing is increase profit margins for domestic businesses. Allowing the Chinese to directly dump their cheap goods here with no way to mitigate it creates a glut that threatens all non-Chinese producers and jobs (unless your whole business is simply installing panels). One of the funniest/saddest things I've ever seen in my life was when our gruff, old, ex-military P.E. coach made a kid cry because he yelled at him for not running, then the kid says he was home schooled and his parents never made him run so he didn't know how. Coach didn't believe him and sent him to the office, then one of the A.P.s came back with the kid and he explained the situation to him. Coach spent the class teaching him how to run while we did some fitness test crap. We're doing our pushups and sit-ups and there's this awkward kid running all bowlegged, plodding feet around the perimeter of the gym.
