Unfortunately, most games nowadays are in fact not creative or efficient with their difficulty settings.

"Nowadays"? The vast majority of games at any stage in the industry's history haven't increased difficulty in particularly inventive ways. The conflation of tedium with difficulty has been around for as long as gaming has. Games that do difficulty right are - and have always been - rare gems.

I remember a lot more in the earlier days, like Doom which adds enemies but has no lazy effect on damage, or Streets of Rage 3 where it not only adds enemies and enemy types, but several stages and a true ending on the harder difficulties. I'm not sure I've played anything even remotely recent like that. A game at its hardest difficulty should challenge you to every single aspect of the gameplay and require a firm understanding or ability to adapt and learn very quickly... Essentially the "true" experience. Not simply make it more difficult to get to the next cutscene or something.

Maybe I'm just unhappy with the integrity of the gaming industry, and difficulty is just one reason.

Yeah. But even still, it was rare that a game made things hard in a good way. You can sure name a lot of games. But when you compare that to the number of games that made a lazy hard mode, the number starts to look pretty minuscule...

I usually play games more than once, with the first time being on the lowest difficulty so I can familiarize myself with absolutely everything at my own pace.

I've done this for a few games. I have done it on normal, too. But especially when games have a lot of controls, I normally won't play harder difficulties until I learn at least most of them...

There are also games that don't really have a difficulty, too. But some games can be difficult on normal. Or have difficult parts... And maybe like 70 percent of the people who play in normal play on harder levels on the next play through, of played again. But challenging levels isn't the only thing that makes a game fun. Some like certain stories, other might just like the mechanics, etc...

Because most people start in normal, then work up... since there's no choice that includes multiple difficulties, you would have to assume it means the first time. Most people start on normal. And with more games having a new game plus, they play that on higher difficulties... But I would also like to hear the answer to Shadowsword's question...

I use to shower at night before bed when I was younger. Now that I have errors shifts and sleep at odd times, I shower before I go to work(whatever time that is)... and deodorant gets put on then.

Also, I would never take a cold shower unless I was doing it to cool off. But then, it would really be a normal shower. I like my shower to feel good. Needs at least warm water...

Yeah, you can say Twitch is a streaming site, but it's still primarily focused on gaming (even as other content has started to spring up more and more).

Even so, the way he phrased it as "definitive, largest destination" is still wrong. YouTube is both larger and more definitive in nearly every sense, despite gaming only being a small part of it. The only thing special about GameFAQs nowadays is its database, but the obscure games tend to have the minimum amount of info anyway.

Then maybe they're lying. Or maybe they're saying "definitive, largest destination", but under a very certain criteria... IDK. I think the more sounds pointless. Don't ask me. I'm just throwing out ideas...

And extreme heat can prove fatal far faster than extreme cold. And warmth more quickly becomes problematic. Going up 10 degrees is the equivalent of going down 15 or 20 degrees when it comes to discomfort or harm. Heat gets harmful a lot faster than cold.

Doesn't that also depend on your threshold level, too. I mean, I feel I get colder faster than most people. Yet, it seems to take a while longer before I start feeling the heat being unbearable.

I have another problem I have with layers, though. Me personally, while my body could get cold, it's usually not just that. Normally, it's things like head/face area, hands, and feet that stay cold Moreno than others. And it's hard to work in those conditions. Some things are near impossible with gloves that actually keep you hands warm. A hat and mask only do so much for ears. And wearing multiple socks never seems to help with my toes, though that could be because of the steel toe boots. But even when I'm wearing them, feet stay cold...

That is pretty bad. They sound like a shitty person who was mad that you were a smart kid. Probably should've just ran. Or allied and said you wanted to buy lunch. Or saving it up for something. My mom would've been pissed if someone did that to me. She would've been at that school arguing with everyone. Haha.

On a side note, I remember when they had Krispy Kreme donut sales at school, I would usually by the last two or three from someone so I could get the box. People thought I was asking them, and then when I said I wasn't, would ask for them. So, I said I would for $.75... and people still bought them. Made all my donut money back. I started buying boxes and reselling them to kids who didn't ever see the donut sellers. Haha.

I have signed with a squiggle before, but usually not. There is one person who can copy my handwriting, but I allow it. Anyway, I wouldn't say handwriting is super important. Legibility is. Grammar and spelling are usually good skills to have, too.

I have seen some pretty bad handwriting in my life, though. But, where others failed at deciphering it, I was somehow able to. I guess they were my friends, so...

My town actually has a law on the books that you can't sell a house unless you have owned it for over 5 years. In theory, it prevents flipping of houses (which it does), but in practice it just leads to a bunch of zombie houses that the owners don't want anything to do with because they are stuck with them and don't want to pay for maintenance. My neighborhood has about 4 - 5 of them that have been abandoned for a while, one is literally two doors down from me. Which is a shame because when I moved in that house was amazing. If it was up for sale a year earlier when I bought my house I probably would be living there now given how nice it is.

So people are still buying house to flip them? And are waiting 5 years or so to sell them? I feel that would cost more since you would either have to keep them looking good. Or fix them after they become a zombie house.

Last year one of the guys brought two whole smoked chickens. I ate half of one on my own. So yum.
