What happens if you have a "pending" charge on the day before your credit card payment is due, you pay your balance, and then said charge posts at like 11:59PM and is reflected as a balance on your card?

I've been making sure to pay my balance down to zero a few days before the due date every month, and then I stop using my card a few days before the due date to avoid this.

What's the deal?

your statement usually isnt generated for another couple days after your payment due date. as long as you pay it off before then, it won't show up as a balance on the next statement.

credit karma uses vantage score. literally means nothing. no one uses it.

im watching Vampires by uh.. can i even say? anyway its new.

this girl gets turned into a vampire and she wakes up in her home. her sister is wondering why shes freaking out and the vampire passes out, and her sister takes her to bed. the vampire lady wakes up, and turns evil i guess, and starts telling her sister that shes not really her sister but her step sister.

so then they have sex

its 95 a year, yes, but if you can get the sign up bonus, they're giving you, at minimum 500 dollars.

for premium credit cards, you gotta look at the benefits vs the fee.

my chase sapphire reserve is 450 a year. terrible! ugh!
but...
i get 300 dollars a year in travel credit
i get 100 dollars in global entry/tsa precheck
i get priority pass to get into airport lounges to get free beer, cocktails, and food (i travel with my gf, and food and drinks would normally be like 20 per person, so lets value this at 40 each use).
and i get 3 points per dollar on travel and dining. that alone nets me around 150 dollars in points. and thats not even counting regular spend.

so with that card alone, i pay 450 dollars once a year, and get nearly 600 dollars in value. a net of 150. easy money.

i did the math for my chase cards. i have 4, two of which im paying for. for 545 dollars i get 1200 dollars worth of points. and thats JUST cash back. if i redeem though chase for travel, its worth 1800 dollars, since they give you 50% more redemption.

but if i transfer those to airline partners? holy shit. i recently redeemed 160,000 chase points for 2 business class tickets that are 8000 dollars each. so i got 10x the value by doing that.

point is, dont be afraid of annual fees so long as you can get more value out of the card. and of course, you can afford it up front. but if you dont have income then yeah you shouldn't be playing with credit cards anyway lol.
