Here's some fun facts: One of my veteran friends got to skeet shoot with rocket launchers and drones, so that his higher ups could say they definitely needed all the money they spent, else their budget would shrink. He estimated something like 17 million tax dollars were spent in an hour. This is very normal. My vet friends have had similar stories. Basically saying that had an unlimited budget so if something breaks or doesn't work, they don't have to fix most things and can just get a new one made. Shouldn't you want to pay less taxes and trust yourself over the government? It's been said here already, but the government can leverage its collective body in order to get better deals then any individual could. It's why there should be a public health care option. It's why Unions and Corporations are effective, because they can leverage their entire organization towards their aims. Ever wonder why big box stores are so much cheaper then others at times? It's because they can put in orders for thousands and get them for less money overall for each unit. It's like going to a grocery store and buying a 5lb bag of apples for less then it would have been to buy those same apples for the same weight but loose and not bagged. Now just imagine that on a grand scale. We have a lot of things in this country that we could actively do to make the lives of the average person easier but we simply don't because wealthy people consistently bribe (lobby) efforts to not have to have any level of control, oversight implemented on them.
