..made? I mean most of you have worked in fast food or retail or customer service before right, and some customers are very very tough on even minor mistakes, idk, like if you give them back the wrong change by a small amount or something and they might absolutely lose it.

I become slightly disgruntled then move on.

I'm very patient actually. Once they forgot I was waiting on my order for a whole hour. They gave me extra fries.

one time at Jack in The Box they forgot to put the patty on my burger

Depends on how high that person is. Making a mistake is one thing, but if you're too fucked up to fix the mistake then I'm gonna be pretty pissed.

Very patient. I've worked in food before and shit happens sometimes.

It depends. Some workers are completely flippant and dismissive. Im an ass to those workers.

yeah i agree. I'm in retail. And you do get some customers who are very very tough on even the smallest mistakes, though

Well tbh I am very bad with time and it feels like it flows differently for me. I only realized it was an hour after thinking it had been a while, to me it felt like only 10 minutes had passed.

The could serve me a bag full of live rats instead of my order, and I would just say: "It appears you've given me someone else's order. I didn't order any rats."

Depends on the mistake. It's not always their fault

I may throw out a sarcastic remark at them, but I don't get angry or start yelling.

I've worked retail and fast food and grew up poor working minimum wage and understand the bullshit you have to deal with standing on your feet all day. I understand it.

Why would I be tough on them?

I usually don't give af unless they straight up forget an item. If I'm paying for fast food my standards are already in the gutter for the day anyways.

yeah maybe in other countries, but in the us. at least prob none of them can sit when doing their job

I understand mistakes happen, but I do expect them to correct the issue. I am very pleasant and understanding when I bring it up though.

No, not unless it was something big, mistakes happen. I'll usually only even bother to go back or call for something forgotten or some bigger mistakes

I might be super critical internally but I don't externalize it. Retail is a tough gig and doesn't pay worth of shit.

Depends on what. If they forgot food Ill go back to the counter. If they gave me the wrong stuff Im not going to bother, its fastfood slop.

really? i order fast food a lot and not even like 1 in 6 has a mistake usually but i usually check before i leave.

Something I'll never forget is having one of those assholes apologize profusely at the end of the phone call. I was managing a locally owned pizza place at the time and had a guy call up complaining to me because his pizza was greasy. I told him well you got all meat and double cheese so it will have more grease than normal, I even offered to remake it for him and have it delivered to him for free. He started screaming at me and I just lost it and shut him down with a quickness. Never had a problem with that guy again.

I know, sometimes it's a bit hard to check everything for everyone or I don't want to hold up the line. Again, everyone makes mistakes.

Sometimes it can really be annoying though. Especially lately with food prices going up and everywhere being understaffed.

Working in retail before, I've been in that bullshit situation where we're short staffed, and there's literally no way of helping the fact people will have to wait.

So there's degrees in which I try to make a read as a customer:
Mistakes happen/or they're observably in a difficult situation at the store
Benefit of the fact they're going through shit. Unlike professional news anchors and stuff, it's not like some min wage worker has had the training or expectations of having a display of minimally-faltered composure.

My leniency ends if they're consciously just being stupid or I revisit the store and they're on the same shit multiple times in a row. I haven't been shorted what I paid for necessarily, so my response has been just not going back to that store.
