Why? Because convicting people is abused by the justice system to remove people from their most nasic right: voting.

You are placing an incentive to the government to criminalize people just because they disagree politically.

Government/police should not be able to act on that incentive, otherwise they abuse it.

Absolutely agree. There's also zero good reason felons shouldn't be allowed to vote, and I see no real issue, especially in modern times, with setting up voting in jails and prisons.

I'd be fine with paying less if the profit for their work was actually paying for the prison, but A) it goes in the pockets of greedy CEOs and B) even with them getting paid less it shouldn't be such an insulting amount.

Given modern constitutional law? It means literally anything you argue it to mean. The constitution is incredibly ill defined and misinterpreted even by legal scholars.

And even if those who wrote it meant for open and concealed carry to be allowed, they were wrong and should be disregarded.

Regardless of where you stand on the law, allowing something like this to remain would be incredibly dangerous. If you can suspend part of one amendment, what's to stop other governors from doing the same thing? Like red states suspending freedom of speech and such.

Conservatives are ignoring and violating the constitution all over the place. They've corrupted the Supreme Court and endangered the lives of millions. So yeah, I'm ok with a governor saying fuck the constitution and fixing what needs to be fixed.

Essentially Qualified Immunity is SUPPOSED to be that if a cop is making the best decisions and following procedure as best as possible, he's protected and the lawsuit needs to be targeted at the department or the state.

In reality it ends up being....cops can't be sued. Because even when they badly break policy individual cops are protected to a ridiculous degree.

Writers moved on to other shows. Couple that with the flanderization of every character, jokes focusing mostly on references because that became a trend, and storylines that shifted from the core family and you get where we are now.

Simpsons used to be a place where new writers would cut their teeth alongside seasoned veterans but it's mostly a hodgepodge of people struggling to find a good gig. It's still a good place for voice actors tho. They put on one of my friends who's now doing a shit ton of work. Even voices a popular Genshin Impact character now lol

Oh you're correct they did, but they're still enforcing a state law so they can't be sued, in that case the state would be sued as the officers were acting correctly.

Like, it's going to drop in quality, sure. I don't think I know any sitcoms or long running shows in general that didn't.

But modern Simpsons isn't just bad, it's like it's intentionally trying to be as unfunny as possible. They drop a joke and I get genuinely confused what they were trying to do or if they thought it was funny.

September and October. A startlingly unfortunate amount. It's cool for a couple of days after crunching all year but it gets old pretty quickly.

When I worked for Columbia during the summer in early mornings there was up to an hour between calls, it was boring as shit if I didn't bring a book lol
