I can't speak for martial arts experts but I do know "your wallet isn't worth your life" is common advice. But I'm a bit skeptical of it, since it sends the message that mugging is acceptable behavior society should just roll over for it. Do me a favor. Look inside your wallet right now. What object, if any, are you comfortable dying for and why? Which replaceable object has more value than your irreplaceable life? Anyone who practices self defense to "Teach bad guys a lesson" suffers from Main Character syndrome. In the real world the biggest baddest guy out there can still be taken down by a kid if the kid has a gun and the big guy doesn't. That's not to say you don't defend yourself if you have to. But running away also counts as defending yourself. Hiding also counts as defending yourself. If those options aren't viable, and you truly feel like you're going to die if you don't, then by all means fight. It is not a civilian's job to punish muggers. well first off pepper spray doesnt always work so I dont recommend it anyway. Guns don't always work, doesn't mean they aren't effective. Same with pepper spray. Men aren't attacked as often, but it does happen. Hell some guy on this board was mugged iirc. Seems like you think every guy is supposed to be some combat expert, but that's not the case. Yep. You'd think they would be more pragmatic about it. Like they want to have sex with women, probably complain about having to wear a condom, but then also go after reproductive rights that are a very good reason for women demanding men wear condoms in the first place. Like obviously there's also the concern of STIs, but if women weren't shamed and punished for being sexually active, maybe more of these men would be getting laid. Because a few boards are surely the only reason Gamefaqs have waned in popularity. Totally haw nothing to do with how outdated the site is overall, and this is a place where users initially had push back against avatars, can you even imagine a fully 'modern' Gamefaqs that wouldn't piss off the old users and somehow get millions of new one? He's on the copium, and he doesn't even remember that the Gamefaqs community was never respected. Even in 05. Probably even earlier than that. The site itself is respected for being the place to find out info about a game. Especially some of the very niche ones. But our time has passed.
