To me it feels less like "oh he suddenly realizes he's fond of her" and more "surprise! Squall loves her now!" If Squall was just a bit less ruthless maybe I could see it working but yeah I dunno. I do very much think the story works better if you pick the nicer ones because even those he seems "in character" in that he still kinda pushes her away-- it's just less jarring when he flips over in disc 3. --- No problem! If you choose to make Squall super jerky (any why wouldn't you it's fun) the execution on the romance angle feels like a Vince Russo swerve and Rinoa comes off as extremely pushy and annoying rather than charming. I do hate her less than I used to over the years-- once upon a time she was meaningful competition with Terra for worst VG character, now not even a contest-- but I'll never like her. --- No problem! | Lopen 05/15/23 11:17:28 PM #159 | I think the game was thrown by town (by no fault of scum we were just super underpowered vs that town configuration imo) but pretty much everyone aside from Peaf Dumey and wallz helped that, and Marth's play was excellent and he was town scanned. Ulti doesn't get to say he had a good game because he put a marginal amount of effort into the final day. People make fun of me for trying to guess scum teams early but that is ultimately what mafia is. You have to guess who is paired and then also explain why. Corrik made Marth look so townish late by just being completely lazy and boiling gamestate to godfather vs no godfather, giving no real justification on any reads (they were great, really, but I absolutely saw why you were lynched and thats why I said to Marth "just hammer him if you feel like it") and making it look like ctes could be town. Then Ulti idles on Corrik all day and then tries to call Marth scummy for hammering him-- he should have been going for that Marth assault yesterday when ctes hadn't flipped yet. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
