Yeah, there's a lot of higher scores. Game Informer gave an 8.5, Destructoid gave a 10. The average is an 88% right now.

I mean, it's not literally a gay couple onscreen, but it's implied as such through making the act of the murder come off as post-orgasmic between the them. The two leads were gay and bisexual in real life, and the screenwriter was gay, and the subtext was very much intentional.

I'm leaning towards TotK right now, but it could very likely be either BG3 or Starfield.

TotK had some issues, and there could be some games that could dethrone it.

There's a crazy amount of them, but they're still interested just for the plot in them. Hell of a lot better than Xenoblade's boring ass side quests.

When I was a foster parent, the case worker who did our monthly visits dinged us because our house "smelled like dog". Yes, because we owned two dogs. Apparently, a dog smell was grounds for a write-up, which we had to have corrected within a week or they would remove the foster kids from our home.

Foster parents are held to almost impossible standards to raise kids that aren't theirs, with all sorts of psychological issues from past trauma, yet biological parents are given an insane amount of leeway where things like this can happen.

Stories like these just piss me off, as we fostered due to not being able to have kids of our own, and the system put us through hell for something we volunteered to do. And then you have parents like this who cannot appreciate the kids they do have, and care more about themselves and "winning" than the kids they supposedly fought so hard to keep. And the system often enables this kind of behavior with the number of chances bio parents are given to clean themselves up.

Yeah, one of the workers found dog poop on the front porch, and wrote that up.

My parents ended up losing my two foster brothers that we had custody of for a few years when we were a couple of months from adoption.

It was already known that it wouldn't even start development until Starfield was finished. The primary Bethesda dev team that Todd is with works on the mainline games, and they only focus on one at a time.

Never. I had magazines and read them since I was 5, and knew pretty early on how to tell what was and wasn't bullshit.

Not at all. The planets are separated by menus instead of seamlessly accessible from space, and aren't fully explorable. But the randomized planets aren't a substantial part of the main game to begin with.

No. Answering phone calls does a little bit from unknown numbers, but I've never had a problem calling to make an appointment or whatever.

Compared to Baldur's Gate 3's facial animations, Starfield looks comically amateurish.

I mean, considering it started development almost a decade ago, it was probably too far along to add that tech after it became more commonly used.

Speed Racer is incredible. I avoided it for years because it got such bad reviews, and then when I finally watched it, I was blown away. That movie is gonna get reappraised in the future, and people will realize it's a masterpiece that was ahead of its time.

I remember when Time published their top films of 2008, people threw a fit because Speed Racer was not only on the list, but higher than TDK. And I saw no problem with that. It's fucking awesome.

Even though they've been talking about invisible walls/barriers for years.

Yeah, it has more hand-made areas than any other Bethesda game. The randomized planets are a pretty inconsequential part of it, and are more for modders.

Yeah, it was pretty much a way to get him out for them. He barely even attended work meetings, and acted like a child any time he did.

1 was the only one worth playing. If you're not enjoying it, I wouldn't bother with the rest. 2 was hot garbage.

I played through ME1 twice and loved it. I played ME2 for the first time earlier this year and it's...pretty good, I guess. Kind of underwhelming. Haven't started 3 yet.
