They can object as much as they want but pets are still property. It's a very silly thing to argue against in the first place.

Nah, you just like being contrarian for no reason, since they aren't objecting to the "property" bit as much, either, as they are the usage of the word "item."

It's also an important distinction to make.

"The missing pet/animal/whatever" should, and rightfully does, generally command more urgency than "the missing inanimate object." Thus, since people more readily associate inanimate objects with the word "item," that can cause problems.

The guy in the OP didn't file a Missing Person's Report when his cat went missing, did he?

This is the dumbest hill to die on.

The argument isn't that cats are people, they're just objecting to living things being called "items."

And it's a pretty fair objection, since most people think inanimate objects when they hear the word "item."

"Bob intentionally ran over the item."

It becomes very, very different if that "item" was a dog.

Also way to disregard the actual data just because your anecdotal experience doesn't match up lmao

That's as of 2022, and it's the first time it has ever hit 30/it's the highest its ever been. Thus, naturally, people are used to people having children below 30 moreso than not, since it's a very recent thing, otherwise.

I went to Toys R Us twice a week just to play Mario 64. I spent so much time running around the courtyard and Bob-omb Battlefield. I never could beat King Bob-omb though because I kept throwing him off the mountain (which is still weird to me that that's not what you're supposed to do).

I also remember the dude who worked at Babbages would challenge anyone to play Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast kiosk, and I destroyed him. He hopped the counter and went "YOU'RE GOING DOWN KID!", and he did not. Good times.

Oh god, I remember Soul Calibur being a hot Dreamcast kiosk game. I didn't buy the game until much later, but I rented the hell out of it specifically because of this. In the kiosk demo, I think you could only be... Nightmare and Mitsurugi?

Has Wanda ever stopped losing her grip on reality in the MCU? It doesn't take much.

I feel like they could have Wanda miss out on the 2 for $4 sale on Mountain Dew at Target, and she'd lose her grip on reality again.

"That'll be $6."
"No, it says 2 for $4."
"That was last week's sale."

Mario: (Goes underwater for more than 30 seconds)

Even that doesn't work, because Mario dies in two hits, which takes a lot less than 30 seconds.

Even if you argue 64 health bar onward, his air meter and health bar are the same, so he still basically dies in two hits. But in that case, I'm pretty sure 3D Sonic no longer drowns in 30 seconds like 2D Sonic did, though I may be wrong.

After they switched to a new disc my mom got to bring the old one home so I have a shitton of them somewhere with my PS1 stuff. The demo station screen was kinda high for lil ol MJOLNRVII so my neck would sometimes hurt after a while.

Yeah, the screen was intentionally higher so you didn't stand around all day, but little StealThisSheen didn't care. I'd play the demo station all day if I had to, while my mom shopped for school clothes or whatever. And she'd come to me and be like "Do you like this?" And I'd be like "Yeah, yeah, whatever," because I was too busy trying to beat Bowser, or Robotnik, or Kazuya, or whatever, at the time.

When I was young, my favorite thing was playing those demo stations while my parents shopped.

I'll never forget one time when my brother dragged me away to a demo station at Sears, and we tried to play either Tekken 1 or Tekken 2, but the controllers were broken, and so the demo station was stuck in Demo mode. Since we couldn't play, I got bored and wandered back over to my mom, who was buying me Super Mario RPG for my birthday, and my brother had attempted to distract me so I wouldn't see.

Good times.

I still had to wait for my birthday to get SMRPG, and knowing I was getting it made the wait so much more unbearable, but now, so many years later, it's a fond memory.

Hyper Sonic is tied to the Master Emerald so that's probably why. And also they don't want to bring it back because they're afraid of things devolving to DBZ-like power creep. This "new form" introduced in Frontiers is meant to be a one-off power boost that Sonic can never get again.

In-game, the form isn't given any sort of name, but in files it's called Super Sonic 2, likely for sorting convenience.

This makes sense. Thanks for the info!

I couldn't do a 12 hour shift unless I was being paid very well for it, or if it was something I was very passionate about. I almost became a doctor because I found myself passionate about certain aspects of health care, but I ultimately shied away because I just couldn't stomach the debt I'd have to go in to start it. To an extent, I regret it, but that's life. The point is, in that role, I would have accepted 12 hour shifts. But other things that I'm less passionate about? They better pay damn well.

That could be said about left or right too. If you measure those (even for the parents) by today's standards, you can measure center by today's standards too.

That's not really accurate, since the core of the left and right have remained mostly the same for a long while. We attempt to now label them as "far left" and "far right," but they're ultimately still the same. It's the "moderate-left" and "moderate-right" that keep changing, which is why being a "centrist" is the most inconsistent thing of all.
