My brother in-law passed away some 20 years ago of colon cancer. My sister had a small shamrock tattooed on the inside of her wrist (he was Irish). She said it gave her a lot of comfort and she could always just touch/rub it when she needed his energy. It was easy for her to see it while at work or doing whatever . She eventually remarried but even now sometimes I'll see her touching it. I don't even think she realizes that she is doing it.

I'm gonna get something for sure. My wife did half design something for me that was quite elaborate. I love it but I don't know if I want it as a tattoo.

I looked through some of her drawings (she loved to draw before she started losing the strength to be able to do it) and I found a Totoro she drew that I might get.

I might do that Totoro, and then the day and time she passed away.

I'm gonna be totally honest here.

Most "porn stars" are not very attractive to me personally. Not in like, "Most women are very average" sort of way, but in a sense that the way most women need to portray themselves and look to be successful in porn is just not what attracts me.

That is probably a simplification and I don't watch an absolute metric shit ton of porn or anything like that so maybe I'm just not seeing the breadth of choice out there... but most porn I've seen just isn't super appealing to me.

Received my wife's ashes today. Nothing ornate or even an urn as my wife was always pragmatic and said if I was following her wishes, I was spreading her ashes and then from there a nice picture in a frame was better than a fucking urn. XD

This also means I received the death certificates so I can finally get some of that work done too

I would give it a 9/10. Combat system was fun and engaging, albeit a little simplistic. I think they didn't want to scare away new players. I haven't played it on the hardest difficulty so I can't really say for sure if that adds the challenge I would like.

The narrative and characters were great. As someone with a brother, the connection between Clive and his brother was something that I hadn't really experienced before in a Final Fantasy game. Their relationship had nuance and felt quite realistic to the trials and tribulations they were going through. This game's Cid is amazing and charismatic and the right kinds of goofy at times. The villains were all fairly strong, though some I think were not utilized as well as they could have been.

The political intrigue in the first half of the game was quite interesting, and when it takes a back-seat later it feels missed. I wasn't as interested in the later half of the game, despite some of the best combat scenario's coming from there.

First work day done!

The hardest thing about the day? Something I hadn't even anticipated or thought of. I typically have to drive here and there around my city for work. 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there, 20 minutes maybe on occasion. In those breaks? I would call my wife. Most often to chat about nothing, or to see how she is doing, what she had on the go, etc. etc. I honestly looked forward to those moments, I was excited to chat with my wife, even if I saw her an hour earlier. I would talk about what was going on in my work or she would tell me what was going on at home.

Today? Just listen to the radio. I was in radio in my early 20's so I enjoy the radio and whatnot, but it was just so weird to go about my day but not have that chat with my wife.

My colleagues were awesome, as they always have been. They didn't treat me with kid gloves, we joked around like we always would, they brought me in on what I missed the last two weeks, all that stuff. At the end of the work day? I was looking forward to going home... which was my biggest worry of all this. That my home wouldn't feel like my home, that I would find excuses to stay out, etc.

It is a hard thing to grasp but there are those that think "I didn't sign up for this" and bail on the situation.

It is far more common than you might think. There are people who need their relationship to be something close to 50/50, or people who cannot take care of the sick. It's kinda sad but it is the reality.

My wife was estranged from her family and for some of them it was literally that they didn't believe her illnesses.

Never run, definitely felt overwhelmed.

About a month before my wife passed, I had a weepy breakdown with my older sister and I specifically said, "Is it so wrong that I want this to end for both of us?! I'm telling you this because you also know I won't ever leave. She doesn't want to keep doing this and I don't want to keep watching her die slowly".

I never wanted to run. I wanted things to happen faster.

I went back to work today.

I do kinda worry a bit about the outpouring of emotion and support and how that will impact me. Not at all in a negative way but just having everyone you come across give you a hug and tell you how sorry they are and all that. I'm an emotional guy and it will be an overwhelming few days for sure.

Worried is not the right word. Emotionally exhausted just thinking about it? Lol, something like that? I'm used to being the caregiver, the one PROVIDING the support. It can be potentially overwhelming to be on the other end.

I'm at the skating episode. XD

I'm currently in the midst of Whole Cake on my dub watch. 843 and counting.

Gonna watch some more tonight!

On it's own Nami's moment was impactful, but it annoys me that ever since the New World started Nami basically just relies on her crew to bail her out of everything. It takes the impact out of a scene to see her act bold only to follow it up with nothing. In Wano it was especially bad.

I mean let's be fair... beyond her ability to control weather KINDA, which is negated being indoors quite a bit, she is weak in combat terms.

If you knew from the beginning what you were in for, would you do it all over again?

This was one of the final things I told her. As we sat in that recliner sofa and just held each other, I said to her, "Honey, if I knew 12 years ago this is how our journey together would end, I would do it again in a heartbeat."

She cried and said that she loved me and couldn't understand how anyone could do that for her.

Had I known that is how our journey would play out, I would have done it all the same. The happiness and joy that my wife gave me outweighs the struggles that took place. I can also say I couldn't imagine that wonderful woman having to go through all that alone, or with someone with less strength than myself.

When speaking with Jodi, our physiotherapist, she really impressed upon me that people don't do what I do. She's worked with literally thousands of patients, through some pretty bad shit. She's seen partnerships fade away due to the hardship of being a caregiver.

She said people don't just do what I did. I put everything on hold for my wife. I changed my entire life. I changed my diet, I changed how I clean, I changed how I interact with the world. I utterly devoted myself not just to my wife, but the way in which she and her partner HAD to live. I chose that because I love her and it's what she needed from me.

So yeah, if I knew exactly how it would go, I would have done it again in a heartbeat.

I never got the chance to try Out of This World but my god I can't believe this sort of game was even CREATED for that generation.

It's weird to think that the "longplay" for the game is 25 minutes.

With PoGo I've been doing some morning walks to get some stuff done in game while it isn't super hot. It's kinda nice.

I don't understand how some people are not getting this.

SAG is not boycotting all film making. They aren't. They are striking against the AMPTP, so studios that are not a part of the AMPTP are not part of that strike.

If people wanted to go make a French film with a studio not part of the AMPTP, they could do that just fine.

I started a re-watch for the first time since it was released and even just after like 5 episodes it is fucking solid!

Wow, this is already overwhelming. So much to do, so many people and stories. It is impressive and intriguing.

My desire to want to do a "perfect run" makes me wanna read a guide, but I am not gonna ruin the world building and such.

All I know is that the game is supposed to be awesome.

You are conflating things. The point of the strike is to get the AMPTP to give in to their demands. SAG even said they want people to go to watch movies and stuff in theaters right now, so it isn't like the way to win this is to just blanket ban everything.

You are striking against AMPTP and their forms. If A24 is not part of that, you aren't striking against them.

A24 is not some slapdash attempt to get people to scab or something like that. They are an exceptionally well respected independent studio that take on projects that the members of the AMPTP wouldn't do.

The strike is not against all work and that was never the intention.

Except for the fact SAG and co. agreed to this move. Just cause Sarah Silverman doesn't like it doesn't mean that she is right and so many others are incorrect.

Definitely anime. I don't think you can really do two seasons, so I'd focus on maybe 13 episodes.

I think you can do a fairly straightforward type adaptation, however to do the final twist at the end, I would change the animation style into a rotoscoping type thing and turn it into a single-cam thing. Have her "pull" the camera to her and keep it on her. Have her comment on knowing she is in an anime, and my god if you can somehow program it in, have her read your account (let's say it is on Netflix) and have some banter set up about certain shows that you watched. "Oooo, you watched Stranger Things? I bet you it would be something that Natsuki really enjoyed. Yuri would have found something to complain about, but you and I can just watch it together forever if that's what you want, I'm not like them at all" Maybe take a cue from Eternal Darkness and have her start messing with the volume, or even unliking something on your Netflix account?

Made some plans to have some friends over for Summer Slam next weekend.

It's not something I would have done before my wife passed, since with all her allergies and whatnot we had to be very careful who came over.

It will be so interesting to have some guys over to watch some silly wrestling, order in some pizza or whatever.

I've been feeling pretty good the last couple days. I dunno what it was exactly but during my 5k walk I just kinda hit this thought. It was the longest I had ever gone on the treadmill, both in time and distance... and it was like, well if I can do that, I can move forward.

And my wife isn't really gone you know? All the best parts of her are part of me. Yes my space is quieter, there is less "energy" in my home, but all the best parts of her are in me. The biggest things that are gone are pain, suffering, anxiety, panic, and sadness. THOSE are gone forever... but what it is that made her who she is? What I love about her? I've taken those lessons and that spirit into my own forever.

There's something absolutely wonderful about that. I am the result of everything in my life, and 12 years of that was my wife helping me to grow to be a better person. More thoughtful, more outspoken, more willing to help and work hard.

NBA Jam is the kind of game that even people who dislike sports games kinda loved, cause it was barely even basketball. You shoved each other around, did jams from nearly the 3 point line, jump 5 feet higher than the rim, and it was just silly stupid fun!

I had Tournament Edition thankfully, and it was fucking amazing.
