Personally..... I haven't played Morrowind

If you ever do you should try OpenMW or MGE-XE. You need one of those to play in widescreen and change FOV anyway, but the latter also gives some modern graphical features like AO and DOF. You can also remove distant fog and generate LODs like later games but it doesn't work well in Morrowind IMO.

Though part of my apathy towards Morrowind is also because I really disliked the gameplay, which detracted from everything else.

A lot of people hate the hit & miss dice roll style combat. I always felt it added to the amazing sense of progression you get in Morrowind which is totally absent in Oblivion and Skyrim. You start off barely able to hit anything, run at a snail's pace, and can jump like only 4 inches off the ground, but by the endgame you're basically an unstoppable god who can jump around or fly around and one-hit kill anything.

Morrowind isn't a game that requires mods. Just the official and unofficial patches.

Yeah, I can't think of many things Oblivion did better than Morrowind. Just the quality of graphics comes to mind, but unfortunately everything is copy-pasted or randomly generated. I love Oblivion though, and Shivering Isles is perhaps the best expansion of any TES game.

In this moment I am euphoric.

Since they're rolling the anti-adblock out in waves I'm starting to think I just haven't been hit by it yet. Because I haven't seen any of the notices and I'm still not seeing any ads, and all I've done is update ubo to the current version. I haven't even had to manually update the ubo filter list. For me nothing has changed, which now has me a little worried.

I think the uBlock devs recommend not using other blockers with uBlock as those can interfere and let ads through. And also turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for youtube.

Goddamn right. Static ads on the bottom of the video were ok, video ads are big nope.

Imagine paying $14/mo just to block ads a single website when a simple browser extension or private browser can do that for free.

I haven't noticed. Usually when I'm watching youtube on my old kindle that doesn't have an adblocker I just get the same stupid local ad over and over and over and over again. On every other device I'm blocking ads.

That's pretty cool. I didn't realize Botch was back together. I'm skimming this album and I think Rebel Hymn is my favorite so far. It's more alt-rock than country though.

To be fair you do also get youtube's music service if you subscribe to premium. Everything else you get from premium is already possible with simple browser extensions. I don't like the idea of getting allowance from google to use any browser extension or block whatever I like from displaying in my browser over my internet, but I know if google had their way that's exactly how things would be. Everyone would be using google ISP on their google device with google browser viewing google websites with google ads.

I kind of think Starfield already looks better than modded Skyrim. The best mod to make Skyrim look more modern is ENB, but modern games can already do high quality shaders like this. Skyrim's vanilla lighting system is ugly and no ENB can fix it.

Looks like about 42% of people use an adblocker in 2023. Previously I remember it being more like 30%.

Sucks for them then. Nobody likes ads, and adblockers are a pretty essential part of using the internet. Lucky most people still don't use an adblocker.

I especially like the "if you don't watch ads, we can't support the creators you enjoy" excuse. If I just sent a dollar directly to each creator from which I watched more than ten videos, they'd be making more money off of me than Youtube would ever pay them for my views. There's a reason so many creators have Patreons instead of relying on Youtube's pitiful compensation rate, arbitrary demonetization, and willingness to let random butthurt nobodies destroy creators' careers.

Creators have to kowtow to this crap and now they don't even know what words or string of words are going to get their video demonetized. It's a shitty system all around. It should be more like twitch, where you support the creator directly with membership in order to watch them ad-free. I'm a member on several channels that I support, but I have to pay youtube for the privilege of blocking ads? Naaah. If I'm not mistaken what revenue creators get from youtube premium is an even smaller fraction of what they get from ad views.

uBlock Origin works fine in firefox. Just make sure it's updated to the latest version. I wouldn't use google's browser if they paid me. I keep hearing people trying to defend youtube/google for this stupid campaign against adblockers. It's borderline unethical forcing people to watch their questionable ads unless you pay them $13.99/mo. Talk about creating a problem in order to sell the solution. Adblockers aren't exactly hurting their business considering every year is a record year in profits for them and they already made like over $15 billion this year alone.

If they do manage to break all adblockers then I'll use my VPN and connect from Albania or some shit where they don't serve ads. If that doesn't work anymore then bye bye youtube. I haven't seen an ad on the internet in like 20 years and I plan to keep it that way.

Halloween 3 might be a shitty sequel but it's still underrated as hell imo.
