When doctors tell a pregnant woman her baby is nonviable and that the pregnancy needs to be aborted to save her life, the pro-lifers tell her her death is an acceptable price to pay to protect innocent life. But when Israel kills thousands of innocent people in Gaza - many of whom are children - those same pro-lifers insist the killing innocent children is an acceptable price to pay to protect the lives of others.

Alternatively, they could secure the area around the hospital then send in their special forces to clear it out without forcing patients to be evacuated.

Last NFL strike proved that fans will still watch the games and spend money. That's why the players have no power, on top of a complete shit NFLPA leadership.

The players have no power because compared to other sports, the rosters are much larger - meaning there are more players - and careers are much shorter - meaning each individual player's window to make money that's got to last them the rest of their life is small. So you've got too many people wanting to get theirs while they can.

The average length of a player's NFL career is 3.3 years. So asking them to strike for a year, to give up a third of their career earnings, is a tall ask. And you're asking them to do so for the players who will be drafted/signed to replace them on the roster sooner than later.

And on top of that, the NFL doesn't have the minor and European/Asian leagues that the NBA, NHL, and MLB have. So that 3.3 year window in the NFL is all most of them they're going to get.

These sports generate hundreds of millions in revenue. Someone's getting that money. I'd personally rather the players get the lion's share over the owners, but you're entitled to disagree.

They don't have an army, however you can't prosecute without a justice system. So while they can't 'force' physically for Ohio Republicans to do anything, they can stop all enforcement of the laws from happening.

Taken to the extreme, a police state will bypass the courts and issue summary judgments on their own.

We are a republic of free states. So, California has the right to be liberal. Tennessee has the right to be conservative. What the Supreme Court has done with Roe v. Wade and also with overturning the New York gun ban is standing firm on the 10th amendment, he began. The next thing we need to do is go after gay marriage. At what point does Israel's right to defend itself end and Palestinians' right to existence begin? How many innocent civilians does Israel have to kill before we're allowed to question the proportionality with which they're responding to Hamas' terror attacks?

I don't think Israel's aim is genocide, but if there's no limit to the number of casualties they're willing to inflict to destroy Hamas, we might get there anyway.

It's not just pointless, it's counterproductive. Unless Israel is committed to wiping out everyone in Gaza, there are going to be a lot of really angry, displaced people who are perfect targets for Hamas' leadership to radicalize.

A significant amount of time was spent discussing the ways they'd help Israel. I don't recall anyone talking about rebuilding Gaza when this is over or about helping Palestinian refugees. It's not news to those of us paying attention, but it does underscore just how little the GOP cares about the innocent people on the other side of this conflict.

Christie was a lot more measured but I think his Trump attacks should have been stronger now that the field has narrowed and he'd have more speaking time.
