I think the biggest issue might be behind the scenes problems with Matsuno and Square at the time.

It Takes 2 exists, there's also Brothers: A Tale of 2 Sons.

Think the latter here is best story with no dialog. If not all games are art that one is.

So easy though towards the end you can play a good portion with one hand.

It's a heavily political storyline so if that's not your thing you won't like it. It's politics and their worlds religion but the church is pretty much a political group too.

I didnr care for it first time around but it grew on me

I also love that 12 is kinda sorta a prequel. You hear of this ancient civilization that had technology and that's the setting 12 Takes place in

It isn't "demons caused everything." It's "corrupt and ambitious people caused everything." The demons didn't possess the templars against their will; they willingly formed pacts to gain an edge on their political rivals.

The demons in Tactics are still "political." They were used by a corrupt church to gain an edge over their political rivals. The ice demons in Game of Thrones were supposed to be an allegory for a force of nature that forces squabbling politicians to unite against a common threat, but the show runners fucked that up.

Lots of great stories don't get sequels.

I did t like the psp TOLUCT. It was really unbalanced the whole class system felt jank.

Yes. The PSP version is garbage.
Reborn takes the improved graphics, improved sound, some of the stuff from the class system, and the added content - but takes away all the terrible balance, all the dumbest shit with the class system, and the class-leveling (rather than using unit-leveling) and removes most of the bad the PSP had.

I held a genuine grudge against LUCT for years because of how bad an experience I had with the PSP version. The Reborn version on the Switch has completely changed my opinion on the game, to the point where I finally see why certain people loved it and claimed it was better than FFT all this time.

I second this. I'd rate the PSP version quite a bit below FFT, but Reborn is better than any FFT games.
