Fantastic job, and I have side hustles in art commission work and some novel revenue.

Not even 30 yet, so it can only go up from here.
I'm currently capable of visiting 5-6 countries a year. I'm aiming to be able to increase that to 10 by the time I'm 30.

This is what it looks like to take accountability, take action, and not be a loser who smokes pot.

Exactly.
With free healthcare, as things are now, the deathrates would skyrocket due to the waiting times (Even more than they are now) that would naturally come with it.

Which would probably just equalize itself because if enough people pass away due to inability to receive treatments from those excruciating wait times, less and less unhealthy people will be around, making said wait times more manageable.

I mean... it's why other countries with free healthcare work so well: their citizens don't have more health issues on average. USA's got a ton, so they have to pay to get treatment in a reasonable amount of time.

I honestly never understood why border control was considered a conservative viewpoint. Im pretty liberal, but Im all for boundaries.

Most of the world is like that, from all angles. You need border restrictions because a country only has so many resources, but they need to make sure the person they're letting in will be a benefit and not a hindrance to society. They've gotta care for their own natives first.

Even the USA when it's strict, isn't that strict compared to the rest of the world. Singapore, the Scandinavian countries, Japan--so many have incredibly strict rules that would make the USA blush for who they allow to immigrate or not. Because it can very easily lead to lack of housing and job opportunities for the natives who need it depending on how much they relax said rules.

Hell the USA's often called one of the easiest to immigrate to, and that was before the recent relaxation on immigration processes.

Then there's no such thing as an RPG video game since you're also playing a premade story.

False.

Dungeons and Dragons is the epitome of an RPG, practically the first that laid the groundwork for every RPG you see today, with systems seen in every RPG imaginable that have stood the test of time to be used to the present day. And its progression is largely at the whim of the DM's narrative and world. A premade story doesn't matter as long as the participants can actually roleplay in the world with consistent meaningful choices that can heavily impact the narrative (And not just a few instances: I mean consistently), hence why they're called "Role-playing Games".

JRPGs do not allow that. Learn the history of RPGs first before you comment on the genre.

If it werent a thing, thered be a hell of a lot more wars and people getting hurt or killed without its influence. The fear of spiritual or otherworldly punishment is much stronger than its worldly counterparts.

Yes, people got killed in the name of religion. But the overall effect has been incredibly positive.

Besides, if it werent religion, humanity would find SOMETHING to kill and conquer for, whether its their own country or another cause.

TopicYoung men: dates feel more like job interviews
lennethsoki
03/03/23 1:05:44 AM
#143
lolife67 posted...
One of the issues is that women aren't generally taught to actually date like men are. Y'all are "pushed" to seek out serious relationships, as opposed to enjoying the dating process and learning what it is you really want (and also just have fun!) This also makes dating more adversarial than it should be.

That's because there are inherent biological differences between men and women that's understood at a primal level amongst humans. And even if one side or the other is taught something, biology will have some degree of sway over it.
It's like how roughly 80% of criminals come from single mother households: you can teach the child to respect the mom alone. It's very, very possible. But the fact is that the father tends to innately helps act as the disciplinarian, and the child's more likely tor respect their wishes. There are exceptions, but biology has a strong impact on a lot of stuff.

Women are pushed and more inclined to seek relationships for mating purposes. By the time they're 30, roughly 80% of their eggs are gone. There's a reason that after 35, if they express interest in having children, every doctor worth their salt will sit the woman down and tell her she's now considered a "high-risk pregnancy".

Men are more likely to pursue casual relationships because, biologically, men can produce healthy children for far, far longer into their life, and don't outright lose the ability to do so until they are incredibly old.

These two differences are compounded by the fact that males can get multiple women pregnant, but a woman can only get pregnant once, and can't do so again until the 9 months is up.

The last biological difference is the big reason why the vast majority of cultures in the world throughout history protected a woman's virginity or encouraged less partners for women: the insurance of paternity. It's biologically-ingrained in men that a promiscuous woman increases the chances that the child is not theirs. However, you can always tell that the child is the woman's for obvious reasons.

Those combined are why men on average tend to prefer younger women: fertility to produce children, higher chance of strong offspring (Not high risk), and paternity assurance.

There are exceptions, obviously. But in general, that's how and why it works the way it does, and carries on to this day through men being more prone to casual relationships (Their ability to spread their seed) and women being more prone to serious relationships (More limited reproduction ability)

Lastly, and this doesn't show up nearly as much any more, but women tend to seek serious relationships for security purposes. This stems from centuries, millennia ago, where the world was far more unforgiving. Because men are physically superior on average, it meant she could be protected, and he could protect their children. Because the strength, stamina, and endurance differences between men and women, especially in those days, was immense. This carried on into the recent days with women preferring men (On average, not all) who are tall, good-looking (Good genetics to pass on), have resources to use on the family, are fit, etc.

Hell, you can see it in East Asian cultures especially. In Japan, they call women over 25 Christmas cakes, 'cause no one wants a Christmas cake after the 25th. (Because she's less fertile but again, it's not a hard rule and there are exceptions obviously)

Loved it when I was in elementary school. Played it later and holy hell is that game flawed af

That game needs a complete remake, and an editor to not make every character sound like Microsoft Sam reading the wikipedia article for every topic of discussion. The writing's balls.
The gameplay's bleh
The story's got interesting concepts, but waaaaay too self-indulgent and thinks it's deeper than it actually is. It's like a teenager binged The Infographics Show channel, and just named every single thing in the game based on at least one video they'd seen from said channel as a reference or idea, so much so to the point that there's flimsy strands of relevance to each other.
And it overcomplicates events for no reason. Probably because every character speaks in just about the most awkward and inorganic way possible.

And no, don't tell me XENOGEARS SPOILERS it's because of Deus or some crap 'cause that excuse makes 0 sense with the other info we're given in that game.
Which, again: concepts with flimsy relevance to each other.

lennethsoki
02/28/23 2:33:41 PM
#29
"Woke" is basically acceptance to a draconian degree, and jumping on anything to feign support, when in actuality they just do it for themselves. Harass and shame people for not tolerating your views, but you won't do the same for theirs. It's full of bitter, angry people who are disguising their own hate and misery under the guise of caring about others. (See: doing the absolute bare minimum for the causes they support online, but offline where it actually matters they won't make a sound)

Note that this is NOT the general principles of the left. Whereas the left means well and are reasonable like the general principles of the right, the woke left is basically the equivalent of the far right: extreme ideologies of their sides to the point of intolerance. To that end, they are some of the most hateful, intolerant people on the planet who don't care about the people they claim to help; they just wait until the next thing they're told to be mad about to point all their frustrations at.
Hence why none of them do anything outside of self-important online posting to help those causes. They can't hate by volunteering to help refugees; they can't hate by donating to charities; they can't hate by buying food for the less fortunate. Of course not, because it's really all about them being able to vent their awful lives while seeming righteous by doing so.

Look at Hogwarts Legacy. Not a single one did any meaningful thing to even halt sales. They just jumped on it 'cause they were told to, it let them hate something, claim to be trans supporters, and then ditch it in a few days.

I dunno. Most religious people I've met are chill. The most I've ever gotten from them was delegating any judgment or wishful punishment to the discretion of their deity. (See: "God doesn't approve.", "You'll burn in hell for your beliefs." etc.)

But they're small time compared to others.
The only legitimately hateful, intolerant group I've ever met were, hilariously enough, the far left or "woke left".
More often than not, they argue from emotion rather than logic.
They will raise their voice and get aggressive if you corner their values or point out the flaws in it. Wanna see something hilarious? Try pointing out that the gender pay gap doesn't exist and has been debunked many times, so they're wasting their time since no one can fix an issue that doesn't exist; try pointing out how the majority of domestic violence issues come from lesbian couples
If you disagree with them, they will try to ruin your livelihood, social circles, and future prospects because you don't agree with them. (Cancel culture, boycotts that always fail, etc.)

"When you cut out a man's tongue, you're not proving that he's a liar. You're telling the world that you're afraid of what he has to say."

Sure, they'll mask it as virtue. Sure, they'll act like they're tolerant.
But they're bitter, hateful people who just look for the next thing to hate. Worse, they actually act on it, against anyone who disagrees.
Sure, there's exceptions. But man the far left has some absolute nutcases where it's clear as day they don't care about people and are just pretending because they want to hate something.

At least with religious people, they seem like they can be swayed in a lot of cases because there are so few who have their entire religion as a part of who they are as a whole, especially nowadays with religion serving more as life guidelines rather than a militant doctrine to follow.
The far left, well... that IS their personality. Attack their views, you attack them in their eyes.
Get different religions in the same room, they'll find a way to get along.
Get different opinions in the same room with at least one being a member of the far left? Lmao good luck!
