It's really bad among sports fans. I'm an LSU fan and we had a baseball player (Wally Pontiff Jr) die in his sleep due to heart problems well before covid or the vaccines were ever a thing, it was a tragedy then as it would be any time, but man I shudder to think what some of our fans would say if that exact thing happened today.

Eh, I remember gamefaqs having some mild publicity a couple years ago because someone was using a Persona guide and noticed the author wrote about how they no longer support the game because they became a born again Christian and the game is devil worship or something. That FAQ was a bounty FAQ as well but Allen just took it down at his request and don't think they had to reimburse any bounties or whatever.

I don't mean the market or whatever that was, I mean you no longer had to have a friend IRL who had a gameboy, other versions of that gen, and a link cable, and since we couldn't have them at school had to wait until you actually hung out with that person when you both had your gameboys available, have them restart the games often so you could get the other starters and get to the point in the game where you could use the trade machine.

I could now just go to Gamefaqs and just have someone trade my Kadabra and trade it back to me so I could evolve it or just trade me the other starters. Yes it made it way easier lol. It's still a bullshit requirement for evolutions to be triggered by trades and have different versions of essentially the same game have different exclusive pokemon.

Forcing trades to complete the game 100% was always bullshit imo. At least it got easier once online trading came along in the future gens

So funny snoring story, I stayed with my grandparents for various parts of my life. One extended time there I bought a car on ebay and we had to go pick it up in Miami so we made a trip out of it. When we stayed at the hotel I heard an extremely loud snoring and immediately thought it was my grandfather because you just assume something as loud and aggressive sounding like that has to come from your grandpa, plus he smokes a lot so it made since. Got out of the bed and saw my grandfather was outside on the balcony smoking a cigarette, and the loud ass snoring was actually coming from my grandmother! Idk you just never expect such a loud aggressive snoring sound can come from your sweet old grandma.

I didn't wake her up and just joined my pawpaw on the balcony and smoked one with him and said "damn you gotta sleep with that every night?" and he just point blank told me "Trust me when we were in our prime it was worth it"

I didn't read this whole thread but this entire board has been littered with threads about this game so at a point I can't just ignore it. So I'm just going to say my say. At the end of the day...isn't it just a harry potter video game where you can actually make trans characters in it as well? And how much does JK Rowling actually make per sale of the game anyway? Does she actually get residuals from every copy sold or did the studio give her a flat sum for rights to use the IP? If it's the latter then her money has already been made and boycotting or shaming people for playing the game is only affecting the staff that worked on the game and streamers trying to stream the popular game at the time like they always do, unless we're now saying that they should get screwed too for daring to make a game off of an insanely popular IP.

Idk, acting like anyone who buys, plays, or streams this game is some kind of bigot that deserves to be shamed is psycho behavior. People have loved HP since they were kids and just because the creator has revealed herself to be a shithead doesn't mean people that grew up and still love the HP universe and want to continue enjoying it are lumped in with her. I'm not going to buy this game because I'm just not as much of a gamer anymore but I'm not about to go book burning my collection of the 7 hardbacks that I worked hard to collect as a kid and have managed to maintain well just because JK Rowling had a shithead heel turn. And I'm not going to go apeshit that some people are going to play a major release AAA game based off a major IP they've spent their whole life enjoying.

To me if you really want to ruffle JK's feathers, just have a bunch of streamers make trans characters using her IP and tag her on twitter showing it to her. Idk, anything but attacking people who worked hard on the game or grew up lifelong HP fans while she just sits back and stays rich regardless of what yall do.

If there's an actual streamer that's actually using the game in a "fuck trans people" way then yeah that's different and those people should be called out, but to target anyone whatsoever who streams it regardless of context is, as I've said before, psycho behavior.

How long have you been using them? I had been using them for somewhere around 5-7 years. My usage of them varied, sometimes I just took breaks, sometimes I tried hard but never got anywhere, and sometimes I did have a period where I'd get some dates and a couple of solid connections.

By the end I was getting burnt out on them too but I did end up meeting my now wife and mother of my kid on one. Maybe just take a break for a while?

I'm assuming you mean go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Yes multiple times, but doubt I'll be going again anytime soon, too crowded with crazies and tourists and most of the people I knew there moved out of the city. Might go to a local parade though when my kid is a couple years older. I'll just enjoy the time off work and enjoy king cake at home in the meantime.

Out of morbid curiosity I went and looked at the subreddit. A lot of them just look like they're just growers and just showing the absolute minimum they can be and calling it micro. If you see a bunch of folds on the shaft and the skin on it is not stretched, they're not erect. When it's cold out and I'm not aroused my shit's pretty small too (hell even my scrotum shrinks instead of hangs) and I could probably snap a photo of that and it'll look like some of those photos, but when it's time to get busy (which is when it even matters anyway) it gets the job done.

Some of them do look legit though, like the ones that look almost ingrown. I feel bad for those dudes.

It's definitely longer than the other RE campaigns. I haven't finished 7 or played 8 though so those might be longer. But I do remember 4 taking by far the longest time on my playthrough.

I can concur. That episode was way more creepy than Ramses to me. I think Ramses weird CGI animation or whatever that was is what people gravitate to but take that away, his character arc and the episode progression wasn't really that scary imo.

Return the slab I thought was funny because Eustice kept pushing the envelope and finally got what he deserved that made me really like the episode as a kid.

It was the barber episode and his smile every time he said "naughty" that creeped me out the most.

ok, i see what you're saying. i took it to mean only the impact of bad calls / bad noncalls. if you're talking about how many opinion decisions the officials have to make, then sure, hockey is probably the lowest.

And I think that's what I like most about hockey. That aspect of least amount of opinion decisions, and also even if there are bad calls, it isn't free points like in basketball or a free 15 yards like in football where it often puts them at least in FG range. In hockey you still have to earn your goals even if you're on the PP. And then if you kill the penalty you're right back on 5 on 5 again, and there's even sometimes where coming right out of the box can lead to an odd man rush so you have that going for you.

I just feel like the way the NHL handles fouls/penalties and also how they usually let the teams play on unless it's something obvious just leads to a better product. I'd hope that anyone in the other leagues that's frustrated with ref influence might give the NHL a chance because just give it a few games and learn the rules and I think a lot of people might be surprised to learn that they actually can like hockey. I live in the south and try to pass the word on and no one gives it a chance, it's just "lol ice soccer" and it makes me sad

i've seen some horrible umping, but it's usually umpshow umps, and those assholes suck for both teams.

a bad penalty, or no-call late in a tie game is way more influential than a bad strike call, imo, even if it happens way less often.

i could be wrong, but that's my gut instinct (and i do watch a lot of both sports)

OK so you can say an ump is accurate or not, but the fact that they call every ball and strike is by definition ref influenced. I've seen hockey games go entire periods without a penalty called, most of it is very free flowing and free wheeling aside from obvious icing or offsides calls. The game isn't dictated as much by the refs and more so by the players, baseball just simply can't be called less ref influenced when the umps literally call every pitch. Most penalties that are called can't be disputed too much either they're usually pretty obvious.

I don't mean to be the contrarian here but when an umpire controls the ball and strike determination, I don't care how accurate you think they are the fact is every single pitch is up to their discretion ultimately. By definition they're way more influential with some umps having larger strike zones than others and sometimes being inconsistent with it. The sad thing is we could have automated strike zones and replays for out/safe but they choose to have the human element when that would be by far the easiest sport to automate just due to the structure of it.

I'm not saying that the NHL is completely free of ref influence, I'm just saying that compared to the other leagues, it is the least ref influenced league of the 4. I still remember that Preds/Pens no goal. But even in that game they seemed to call more penalties on the Pens the rest of the game to make up for that but the Preds couldn't cash in.

NHL actually gives a shit about player safety. Even the fights are stopped when someone goes to the ice.

But there's still some hard hits and bad blood between some team especially in the playoffs. I'd argue the NHL postseason is the best postseason of the 4 major leagues as well. It's a shame there isn't more backing behind it, especially in the South and even the West to a degree. I feel like if more people knew the rules and grew up playing it that it would be way more popular but it's just so expensive and niche in the youth leagues compared to basketball or baseball, and there's way more games than football.

NFL: Can call ticky tack penalties to push teams forward or back which puts teams in or out of scoring range (usually holding or PI)
NBA: Can call fouls to get guys to the free throw line for easy points
MLB: Inconsistent strike zones can put baserunners aboard

In the NHL you get a guy in the penalty box, usually for 2 minutes, and during the 5 on 4 time, the team with 4 players is allowed to ice the puck (push the puck from one end of the ice to the other) without an icing violation to waste time on the power play as a consolation for being a player down. I feel like the calls I see in the NHL aren't as ticky tack in other leagues as well. But even on the arguable ones, the power play I feel is less detrimental to how penalties and fouls are treated in other leagues.

I was abusing myself by posting a lot of the inflammatory content that I did when I was younger. I wanted to be treated badly, which is why I did it, even back then. My subconscious was smart enough to know just what to do to receive the ire of the internet, and I did this up until 2019.
