Season games like Fortnite and League of Legends should absolutely not be included in a Game of the Year list, They weren't released in 2022. If the list is "Best games you played in 2022", then any game made by or before 2022 should be eligible.
I kinda get it from the perspective of the fact that they're ongoing games that are consistently adding stuff, but it's hard for me to imagine that anything Fortnite or LoL added in specifically 2022 is all that spectacularly worthy of a GOTY mention

Yeah this is exactly where I was at too

Like, do I think Joe Biden is largely in the same universe as me politically? Yes

Does he "represent my views?" That's a really wide stretch

I don't really think anyone is even capable of representing my views seeing as being religious is de facto a requirement to hold office in the US and I am very intensely anti-religious, not to mention other political viewpoints I have that are just barely even a conversation in any mainstream american thought right now, not even with someone like Bernie Sanders (who also doesn't "represent my views" for a lot of reasons)

Yeah I'm somewhere in between "there's a candidate who represents my views" and "there's no candidate who represent my views", I picked the latter and I think that shoved me more towards outside left

Also the bit about dismantling all our systems due to racism vs fixing the racism in our systems, like, I'm somewhere in between that too but the way it asked made me go for my "idealistic" answer vs my "pragmatic" answer

The power station is confirmed to have been damaged intentionally, but we don't know who the shooter was and the link between that and the drag show isn't confirmed. The timing is highly suspect, so I won't be surprised if that ends up being the reason, but I've been seeing this one passed around like it's common knowledge when there's absolutely nothing proving the link yet.

Terrorists destroyed two substations in order to cut power to an 18+ drag show in Moore County, NC yesterday. Schools are canceled for tomorrow, and not definitive for the rest of the week. Cell service is spotty, and reported traffic coming out of the area was heavy.

1) Start with magenta and then just go left to right on the flowchart
2) Start with cyan because you immediately want to know what Alice's deal is

I know that Dio or Clover have to be the first ending you get. Other endings are locked behind stuff you find out in those two endings. Once you get one of the two things open up a bit I believe.
That's not true - there are some other possibilities, like getting the Tenmyouji ending first, it's just that the Dio and Clover endings are the only ones that have no locks.

I also got the Dio ending first. It was one of the first major things I did, since I went and did Betray Luna before going through the yellow door route at all.

Yeah, so the reason the RFMA is a win for the religious right is that all it does is guarantee that a marriage performed legally in one state will be recognized federally, but it also has a ton of weaselly language in there about how non-profit religious organizations are indeed allowed to be as discriminatory as they want, and it basically enshrines 'states rights' as the law of the land in the case that Obergefell falls. Remember, the mormon church was in favor of this law, and this is why; it's a hedge bet against Obergefell falling from both sides, basically. If it does, then there is no question that they would be able to fully discriminate against gay marriage in Utah, and the matter would be a 'settled issue' because of the RFMA's passing that they don't have to debate anymore. It's not a huge win for them, but it just sort of ends up settling the debate on their side of the issue too much.

Sorry, I try to avoid slipping into spoiler territory in these discussions but just for Stan's sake here; it's kind of a classic problem in VLR because the two easiest endings to reach (no locks) are the Luna-betray and Tenmyouji-betray routes, the two that people are the least inclined to do at the start of the game. Where I understand Outer Wilds not clicking with people is that it does require a degree of patience and a willingness to absorb some text - it's not a super text heavy game but when it talks, you have to listen and try to encapsulate what it's talking about. You have to be open to understanding the world and the premise the game is trying to lay down. I can imagine it being a bit overwhelming to travel somewhere and translate some text that's talking about what FEELS like some random shit to you at the time, and trying to comprehend all of that when you're taking it all in in random pieces.

But I don't get when people just like... fundamentally aren't capable of engaging the concept of having to explore different places and try to piece together the mystery little by little. It's one thing if all the mystery solving is too much for you but it's bizarre to me when people just don't understand the fundamental principles the game is working by. I played the game blind and had no problem figuring out what it was the game wanted me to do. It's not hard.

Yeah, thinking about it again, I actually think TCU needs to win out to stay ahead of Clemson.

So Clemson just needs to win out and get any loss from USC, or any loss from TCU, and they should be in, except for maaaybe the possibility of LSU beating Georgia which could make things stupid. But that's it.

Ohio State/Michigan loser would need chaos to get in. That chaos would need to include another Clemson loss. There is no path in otherwise, unless the winner of the game just beefs it in the Big Ten championship game for no reason, in which case I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what happens.

I don't know if they would keep a SEC championship loser Georgia over ACC champion Clemson. That's the only thing I could see going wrong for Clemson.

I do think TCU could lose this week and then win the Big 12 championship and still be in over Clemson, yes, so it would need to be TCU losing the Big 12 championship. But that's only if USC wins out.
