Last year I volunteered with a non-profit for four months and then started working for them; this last year and a half I have been happier than ever before in my adult life. I would wholeheartedly say that if you want it you should go for it.

Well she talks about how some of her favorite characters like Jack Donaghy and Alex P Keaton have very strong opinions that are very different from her own and why would she want to make a show and write her character as a liberal west side person living in Brentwood and sending her kids to private school, she says to let her live that life and let the character be wild. She also think its kind of sexist that people assume she is just directly transcribing her own personality and beliefs into her characters instead of, you know, being a writer writing a character.

Is it okay for it to take as long as it did to verify her identity? Absolutely not, especially in the case of a child with no guardian present that is something that should be done in a few hours tops. And if what they said about her brother being threatened into signing documents is true then those agents should be fired and barred from future law enforcement at the least.

There is no question that the order of importance for cases being dealt with should be minors without accompanying adults > groups with children > adults with no children, and also no question that taking over 30 hours to verify the citizenship of a child with no accompanying adult is completely unacceptable. Taking more a few hours is unacceptable barring unusual circumstances.

That somebody not looking like their passport photo is a valid reason to hold them at the border while verifying their identity but that its beyond unreasonable for anybody, but especially a child, to be held for over 30 hours while doing it. That it should have been done within a few hours at most and the people responsible for it should face consequences.

That is not a comparable situation in multiple ways. The biggest being that cable tv is something you are paying for, money has already gone to the creators of the content by the time it hits your screen. Also there is no difference to their metrics between a tv with somebody staring intently at the commercials vs somebody who went to the bathroom. I wouldnt say that somebody running to the bathroom while letting a sponsored ad by a YouTuber play is acting entitled either.

Youtubers don't get paid less if you fast forward over their in-video sponsors. If you have no intention of using their promo codes or affiliate links anyway, you're not helping anyone by watching them in full.

Whether people are watching or skipping over sponsorship ads is a metric that advertisers absolutely have, and if enough people arent watching they can and will pull that sponsorship.

Waste less time getting to the content and also go out of your way to make sure that the people making that content for you get as little for it as possible. Stay classy, entitled ass people.

I could not care less what you think about me. I think its a shortsighted way to operate but there is no even if there arent poor performers when youre doing a comparative performance ranking of a group of people. Even if the workers would be ranked higher somewhere else they are the poor performers within this particular group and its not entirely illogical to regularly weed out the worst performers in the hopes of continually improving output.

Logistics Associate, and I guess kind of both relevant and not; its a position that was created for a short term project. I work for a volunteer driven disaster relief non-profit that, domestically, focuses on restoring peoples homes that were damaged by natural disasters. I am currently working on an organizational level Logistics department project but not involved in the regular Logistics work much. I was previously the Logistics Coordinator on a program handling basically all of the day to day Logistics stuff there.

The organization has decided to move our Logistics department and distribution center from Massachusetts, where the rarely used anymore because now we have people working remotely from all over the world main office is, to a more central location for reaching programs along the Gulf coast. I was pulled from the on program job to be in charge of doing the breakdown of our current warehouse, going through everything we have and scaling down what we keep on hand going forward. There has been a real problem with people just accepting anything that was offered for several years, so there is a ton of stuff that Ive been going through and determining what needs to be recycled/dumped, what to donate, and what to try to sell to recoup costs of the department move.

Its getting into the final stages of break down and last few weeks here before we close this one down and the job switches to setting up a more efficient system for going forward, thats the part Im really excited about being part of.

How do you justify having high standards for people to yourself, given your situation?

If fast food places agreed with your you should know what you want by the time you get to the speaker stance then why wouldnt they put the menu further back in the line instead of right at the speaker?

I tend to block hyper aggressive posters that always try to turn discussions into fights and shameless liars who just make things up and then steadfastly insist what they made up true.

In January I took I10 from Southern California to New Orleans. Its a long but smooth, easy drive. Youll go by an indoor skydiving place somewhere in west Texas and the town of Tombstone. Bay St. Louis, MS is a lovely coastal area but itll still be cold. And of course New Orleans is worth spending a day or two in if youve never been.
