It's so annoying to see a four post topic and you can only see posts #1 and #4.

I only block legitimate trolls. The last thing I want to deal with is going back and forth with a willfull chucklefuck.

A couple of reasons. If someone is a bigoted troll, I feel no need to engage them in conversation. Sometimes, it's just to get a specific topic off of my screen. They really should allow you to ignore topic without clicking on it. If I don't want a topic in my history, it's sometimes just easier to ignore a user from a different post they've made. I understand that last one is petty. But I'm probably not missing out on riveting conversation from them anyway.

Religious trolling is another reason I put people on the ignore user list -- though that often goes back to what I just said about not wanting certain topic titles in my browsing history. If someone asks a legitimate question, or lobbies what they feel is a valid criticism, I'm not going to put them on the ignore list. If somebody says something for no other reason than to get a rise out of someone, I don't mind putting them on the list and ignoring their future posts.

When a person gets really hostile in arguing with you and does that "i insulted your posts not you" crap it means theyre also marking them. Why do i want to talk to this person.

They usually drum up others against you in random topics to "Hes the guy that xxxx in that other topic"

Once i started blocking people like this i magically was rarely modded....

I don't block anyone

I haven't blocked anyone, yet, but I sometimes hide topics.

A few trolls have blocked me, but I don't have anyone blocked. I just tag people, so I can remember their bullshit.

Like one user isn't a troll, but he had a strong opinion against one of my favorite anime. So I tagged him, so I'd never forget that he's a hater Lol

I have a fair number blocked. Usually because I just dont want to accidentally engage with them because I often dont look at usernames before responding to a post.

I don't have anybody on block or ignore.

But if I were to block someone it would be because I consider them unhinged enough that I don't want them seeing my posts that could potentially identify me.

I tend to block hyper aggressive posters that always try to turn discussions into fights and shameless liars who just make things up and then steadfastly insist what they made up true.

Because I farted after I read someones post and the smell was incorrect.
